I have the Chauvet Well STX 180’s and use a wireless DMX transmitter (not D-Fi) to control them. Works great :) Is the D-Fi XLR RX compatible with wireless DMX? Or is D-Fi some other protocol. Can I use my existing wreless transmitter to send DMX signal to D-Fi recievers?😮
it's a 4 bit binary for the lights. but it's reversed. so read the device upside down, then add 1. once upside down, 0001 - 2 0010 - 3 etc in binary it would be 0001 - 1 0010 - 2 etc
Can I use the transmitter and receiver units directly into the fixtures and eliminate the use of XLR chords? (Probably the most super simple way of using them and use an IR remote to control both fixtures via MASTER / SLAVE mode?)
Question: If the Par 4 has this tech built into it, could I wirelessly control the Par 4 and then dmx cable connect to another light (in) and now the light I went into is also apart of the chain?
hello @Christopher Jackson these unit has up to 16 channels to choose from. i control lights that run on 25 channels of dmx, and currently use 9 of the per one transmitter.
How come when I turn it off and on the wifi signals sometimes picks it up and sometimes I just can’t get it to work. Is there a procedure to what I turn on first ?
Hello P, if the manual you have to find the best signal setting on the transmitter for example on the transmitter you have the first 4 orange lights on the the receivers have to match that same setting so they can communicate. usually you set them up first then turn on the transmitter on then the receivers. hope this helps. Thx
Hello Covenant child, i personally used 8 to one receiver and no issues. How many did you want to go to? i can find out and get back to you. please let me know if you plan on using more than 8 Thx
@@idjnow-gear-up Dont forget (as per the video) that if you plug the D-Fi XLR RX into the input socket at a light string, you can daisy chain the local layout using one RX and DMX cables
What would be the range? I would love to use it for a sporting event but the range is over 150ft from where the controller would be. How can you extend the the range? Thanks!
Hello Baltazar Mosqueda Lara, Well if thats the case what you can try is maybe run a cable about 50-100 ft away from you and put the transmitter there which would make it closer by that much and try it that way which i've done and it worked which added about 250 in total. if you need further assistance please reach out to me at richp@idjnow.com Thanks.
I have a question :) I used them yesterday five hours and it stands when you fully charged the unit will work 9-10 hours ... I have still battery but lets say its just 4-5 hours left ... if I will charge them again is it destroying the life of the battery ?? Whats the best way? if I will not charge them and wait the next gig finish its a little bite risky because I dont know 4 or 5 hours gonna be enough because of the distance, and a gig more then 5 hours ... and another question are they using the battery when the lights are just on and moving? Are they using the battery when the light controller on stand mode and the wireless xlr are on?... if you will answer my questions I gonna be happy. Whats the best way to keep the battery life longer? because many people talking about 6 months battery life warranty ....
Thank you for the heads up, You Rock! Best bet would be to call and speak to Chauvet Tech Support for the correct advice. You can reach them at (954) 577-4455 Thanks and Best Regards!
Hi Tony, Thanks for the feedback. Across all industries, batteries are considered consumable and carry limited warranties for each manufacturer. Unfortunately, they degrade over time no matter what. We do still have a great line of plug in units that are less expensive and often brighter. If we can help with questions on those, please let us know. Thanks!
@@idjnow-gear-up I’m just pointing out that the last lot the battery lasted 8 months and when sent back under warranty Chauvet said there is only 6 months on battery, my conclusion they are not worth buying because Chauvet charge a fortune to replace it is better dumping them and buy new again so they are a waste of time.
Chauvet D-Fi XLR with SoundSwitch was a game changer for me. Super easy to use.🔥
Hello P V,
thanks for the support!
That's awesome 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Great video! Answered my concerns! It’s coming on Tuesday!
thx for your support Tim.
what if i use a laptop to move my lights ?

Hello DJ john Piazza,
these are wireless dmx transmitter receiver. i use it with a dmx software and used these ever since. pretty reliable.
thx

Yes you can, as long as the light has a DMX in and out. You'd set the first light to Primary and the other ones to secondary so it runs together.
How many channels do you control per receiver?
