Depends on the situation but you’re right for the most part! If I’m exiting a rapid into an eddy it’s usually best to lean upriver, when entering a rapid it’s important to lean downriver as you mentioned.
I just bought a Echo, waiting for it to come in. How is the wood gunnels holding up to the water? I went with this boat over the Adirondack due to wood gunnels and length. I’m about 240 and bringing a dog I wanted a little more room
Haha great username. I think you’ll be happy with the extra length considering your weight and desire to bring your pup along. The wooden gunwales have been holding up well for me, I just gave them a seasonal sand and oiling last week, they are looking great! I added an extra layer of beeswax to help make a nice seal
Yahh release the beast! Looks like it handles even better with the bags, definitely floats like a charm!
Please do a review on this. There are very few around, would probably bring you some new traffic too
Thanks a lot I have a trip coming up so I’ll be sure to document it!
That would be amazing. Especially with your production skills. I look forward to it
That means a lot, thanks Bob!
Hey Bob, I just released a video that focuses on the Echo. Let me know what you think!
That's what I call a stability test. 😳
I owe it to the yoga!
what length airbags did you use?
Hey thanks for watching! I used a 48” bag for the front and 36” for the back. From the photos I’ve seen from the side it seems to balance really well
@@Evan_Le5 thanks, getting mine on Friday :)
That’s great, are you outfitting an echo or something similar?
Leaning into the current is kind of a big No! No! especially with a canoe with a lot of tumblehome.
