I watched "Brazil" at least three times in a movie theater when it came out and loved it. Terry Gilliam has a signature style of his own and his is a wonderful style. --
@@Gabbeler_ i saw this movie in the theaters in 1985 many times. i was obsessed with it. got the book ("battle of brazil"), the criterion laserdisc when it came out, the DVD set, now the bluray... the happy ending version was never released in theaters, only shown on local american TV stations. The US theatrical version has the normal ending but is missing a few scenes after Sam is arrested. It also, oddly, has one extra joke: when Sam sees his mother's horrific plastic surgery face he says "My god it works". That line is missing from the directors cut. The version available on US iTunes is this one. (2 hrs 12 min vs the "international" version 2h 23 min)
Where are you from, mate? Got to place your accent. I'd say Sussex if I had to guess or Wiltshire. Sorry, I've got something wrong with me where i need to know where people are from?!
I'm a simple man. A dude meets Terry Gilliam and talks about Brazil and other cult films, I subscribe.
Thank you ❤
I feel lucky that I was able to see this movie on some premium cable channel in my teens. Just a bizarre but formative movie for me.
Now "you are going to Brazil" meme makes sense
It took me a while to figure out too haha

12 Monkeys is even better in my opinion. The aspect of time travel makes re-watching it an absolute thrill.
I need to watch 12 Monkeys, hear its brilliant like you said 😄
I loved the 'news paper' scene. Amazing in its day
I'm just here to see how many confused nationalist Brazilians are in the comment section
Hi! Im Brazilian, like the movie, Brazil is nuts, is like Florida, but bigger.
They must have come to a compromise because the film had the 'happy' ending in it's American theatrical release.
Ooooo interesting!

That's very interesting, they sure kept that quiet 😂
