Wow jez thinks starfield wont release until september at the earliest? That would be crazy since ms had that show last year only showing games that would release in that fiscal year. So starfield would be delayed yet again and Ms lied during their show? Crazy
On the topic of MS rewards; the monthly question went from 1,000 to 500 BUT they’ve increased the points for Weekly quests.

On the family plan point. Something that sets GamePass as a service apart from Netflix is that you can buy games through GamePass, which you are enticed to do as a discount is offered on every game that goes into the service.
People can buy dlc and microtransactions too when they play games from gamepass
I wonder if the Xbox "carbon aware" feature was implemented less for retail users and more for Xcloud/server farms. If you've got a million Xbox on racks in an Azure facility, this feature could make a noticeable difference.

Glad to finally hear Rand's thoughts on Callisto Protocol! I agree with the points brought up by Jez as well. I don't know what they were thinking with that melee stuff. It felt very awkward. As soon as I got the pistol I just used that and the game was good about dropping ammo for me, so outside of the one miniboss (that you fight four times! wtf) I just ignored the melee. I think they ran out of time and had to ship the game since it was so lacking in enemy variety, weapons, bosses, etc.
All that being said I think if the devs are willing to listen to the criticism and make changes the sequel could be amazing. Hope they get a chance to do another one since sci-fi survival horrror is so rare in gaming.
Melee is super easy same with dodging so not sure why people are having such issues.

@@michaelsquires1177 I can't speak for others but for me the issue wasn't the difficulty it just wasn't what I was looking for in a survival horror game.
When you are dodging/swaying left and right you look pretty goofy, kinda like Little Mac in Punch-Out. Plus since like you said it was easy that just made monster encounters less intense/scary and more boring/tedious.
I was glad I could ignore it and use the guns/GRIP glove, I had a lot of fun figuring out what I could throw enemies into for insta-kills.
2023 is going to be so lit for gamepass. I wonder what deals for third party are made for 2024 and what first party has in store to actually release

MS rewards is awesome. I bought most of my XSX and PS5 with points. I haven’t really noticed any reduction in points recently.
Ragnarok release date was actually announced in early September for an early November release...so 2 months lead time, so wouldn't rule out any AAA game (including Starfield) to have that short of a hype cycle

The preemptive damage control on Starfield being delayed is too prevalent. MS gave us the timeframe. We should EXPECT them to hit that target...not assume the game needs more polish and testing. But it will be 30 fps.

You people talking about Horizon Forbidden West sales. Funny enough, according to NPD, HFW was the 9th most sold game of 2022 in USA.
For Comparison, Halo Infinite was not in top 20 for both 2021 and 2022. Forza Horizon 5 was 20th in 2021, and not top 20 in 2022. And these games released in both Xbox and PC. More people should theoretically buy these games more than HFW as they are released in more platforms.

About MS Rewards, last time i checked i could get like a gift card worth a couple bucks, that's it. That's all that my points i accumulated throughout the years are worth. I'm reading about people buying all kind of stuff with their points, what am i doing wrong?
What you are doing wrong is not looking at the Microsoft rewards properly, you can currently get overwatch coins with your Microsoft rewards points
@@kevinlist3330 The gift card was just an example. My point is that i have never spent any points yet what i have accumulated is worth pretty much nothing. So other people must grind them like crazy to be able to buy anything substantial.
@@boris3973 no again you can literally loads of Microsoft rewards by just going on the website and clicking on surveys, quizs, visit websites ect.. you do that daily , plus gamepass if you play and do the challenges you can earn loads and it's not even hard like start up a certain game , travel so much in a certain game easy steam the game on the cloud travel for 2 minutes and points . You just don't give a shit that why you earn almost nothing.

My pet peeve, are Games like Destiny’s onboarding process for new players. It seems like a game I’d be super into. But for years I’ve just known it’s a nightmare for a new player and every expansion just fall further behind. Games need good ways for new players to start playing.
Some games are decent at this. For instance shooters have a battle pass to unlock the guns but if you didn't have that pass you can still unlock it later by completing it's challenge. But for the most part I agree. I can't get into Destiny 2 because it's a game that would require all of my gaming time. Same thing with eso. I love it's PvP... But it takes a ton of grinding to get enough good gear and skills to really be a top competitor. I like games too much to play one game that takes up all my time.
Destiny's newest expansion lightfall in February is supposed to be great for new players.

@@kevinlist3330 I don’t know if daunting is the way I’d describe it. I just don’t want to start playing a game and by default be weaker than other players and have to be carried. Giving new players single player content to grind for loot, or putting them with other news players would be nice.

Regarding Calisto Protocol, don't get the hate for the melee combat and dodging. And how is it that different than Dead Space? Just because it's more melee focused? It pretty much is kinda Dead Space. Any closer and it would have been a carbon copy, which people would decry, too.
If you have just played Calisto Protocol please go back and replay dead space because it's totally different, not just the melee but the fact it was so clunky ( dead space was clunky because of the time it was made Calisto Protocol was intentionally made that way) and wasn't designed for multiple enemies, the what you have to time the melee to highlight the death animations that they are then selling more of for profit. Plus the ending was like WTF get DLC to find out what happens.

@@boris3973 what you are talking about is surface level, setting, style, atmosphere what the guys and I am saying is the gameplay the mechanics were totally different, if they had kept the mechanical element what dead space and like I said if they delivered a product where the mechanics were tide to the gameplay, because after playing the game to completion why was the Jacob using melee weapons all the way through the game? Even I hardest difficulty you collect enough ammo like a Resident Evil. So it was a design choice that ultimately contributed to it's flop.
I would rather play the Goldeneye remaster than Scalebound. I would rather play Pong than Scalebound. That dragon game was a holistically uninteresting concept, and anyone who asks for it is just a troll that wants Xbox to make bad games.
I think the sweetspot for story games should be 12 hours more linear games and 20-40 hours for open world rpgs etc side content is fine to make a game longer but it should be clear what us side content and what is main game

Again you are seeing it as doom and gloom and Microsoft missed a opportunity but maybe they didn't want to be under Microsoft anymore and if they are creating a new studio with the ABK deal you really think they are in a position to offer any deals? Let them set up , let them get the ball rolling and let's see if Microsoft makes deal in the future not right now.

MS is lacking big ambitious open world games and they have the resources to get such a big project going. Of course both parties have to agree for a deal to go through, i'm just wondering were they really that set to go 3rd party or did MS just not pursue them enough. I guess we'll never know.

@@kevinlist3330 It doesn't affect the games though. No one thinks that through. Games have a deadline and it's largely impacted by investors and board members. There is no game publisher that says "Ship the game when we hit X amount of pre-orders". That's not how it works. There is no magic pre-order number they hit where they ship the game too early. If literally zero people pre-ordered Cyberpunk, Avengers, etc, those games would have turned out exactly the same.
If Starfield launches in the second half of the year. No one will trust anything Xbox says for the next five years. Deservedly so.

Not a good look to delay a game a second time after they built their show last year around the game coming “in the next 12 month”. Sure it’ll be great when it finally releases. A game being delayed multiple times is never a good sign. I really hope they knock it out of the park with starfield. But I rarely believe anything Xbox announces anymore. Especially when they refuse to commit to a release date. Xbox delaying games is becoming a meme when every other company is pumping out games
Xbox needs to buy Ubisoft! They have an amazing lineup of titles that need to be rejuvenated like Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell plus my favourite Assassin's Creed or Ghost Recon. Too much potential for a gaming service like Game Pass. 🙏🙏🙏
