Bro, you might not believe it but I just started playing this game and I'm already 30 hrs in and still in first city. 😂 I'm enjoying the game way too much. I also restarted to make a better team
I played this game and took around 120hrs to beat it. Not 100%, explorer mode, it was my first CRPG experience. Nowadays I feel more prepared to beat it again but I still thinking I wouldn't do that in 35hrs

When I first played this game I did the same, even though I was having fun and insisting was the best choice I could make. If I could give you hint: Just pay attention and read, read the journal, found letters, diaries, map stuff. Ask and talk helps. And the most important: Act rational, there are a lot of things that the game won't tell you, the game expects you to know and think rationally, it won't carry you by hand.
Bro... I'm starting to play DOS1, but it's been like 2.5 hours and you only have had 2 "real" combats... a little disappointed, too much conversations, I like RPGs and all related with desicion taking but this starts to be boring.
I just finished a play through for the first time, on tactician. Cyseal is a bit of a pain but you really don't need to read or listen to any of the dialogue. I clicked through the entire game without reading - just refer to the quest log. The combat is good if you like turn based. You can also just kill everyone (I believe a handful of characters can't be killed due to story reasons) - this is helpful if you opt to skip most of the quests as you can go back and slaughter NPCs for XP in the previous area. The decision making from story/talking have very little impact on the game in this case.

yellow marks on the map are quest markers so use that along with your quest log. I think it's enough to progress you for the most part haha
