The low 6th allows for better playing in the B minor scale as opposed to D major. Gives more versitality. I love that they put the 6th instead of the 5th. Unique. Also, you can tune to a different scale using magnets. That's why the bottom is so open. The design and running is brilliant
Fantastic video love it . I have also bought the 10-inch Steel Tongue Drum from Harmonic Star and will probably buy another one for my sister . Absolutely love it
Loved seeing you. I got me a 13 note (C scale I think) and have had a blast with it. I don't know what I'm doing but just let myself go and came up with all kinds of fun stuff to play... Not sure if any of it was any good but it for sure is like meditations when I do it.
Hi, I know I never comment so I don't have much right to pop in and say this. But could the carpet be affecting the sound? It seems like it should have a stand where it can resonate? You know far more about these things than I do!👣🐾🐸🌱
Nice design and sound. It looks bigger than the standard drums on the market which are more flat. Is that a 10 inch or a 12 inch drum? Having a bigger cavity inside is probably what makes the sound so good I believe. I might get one. P.S. I do agree with Gomez that the carpet might dampen the sound a bit vs having it on a desk. Still sounds is pretty shwey!
According to their website it's a 10 inch drum. I agree, I really like the sound! Also agree about the carpet. Maybe I'll play future recordings on a table.
@@StephanieDouglassMusic When you have time, would you mind doing another video of this drum just to see the sound difference? Even something really short like one song I think would help. Thank youuuuuuu
I bought a steel drum and am trying to learn too. I love the look of the leaf drum you have!!! Beautiful...!!!
Stephanie!🤗

That is so relaxing. Love it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Also, the way they disigned it is using the Star pattern. It's disigned where the leaves make two stars. Those are your 5ths :)
The more you know! * shooting star *

I think that is a legit possibility! And a good idea! Thanks for the feedback!
