- In this video I test fly the Autel Evo Nano+ in high winds. Overall, I was pleased with the little drone's performance. Under normal circumstances I would not fly the little drone in winds like this, but I wanted to test it out.

Love my little nano+. The only oddball issue I've seen is not cutting the motors on landing sometimes. It gives my Lite+ and Evo 2 Pro a run for their money in night shots.

Yep, Autel is just not quite as buttoned down as DJI.
Yeah, I noticed this too. When hand catching it, it ramps up the motors instead of auto shutting down which is odd. I just flip it upside down and they motors turn off but Autel should fix that.
@@DroneSyndrome Just do it with the sticks. My Mini 2 wasnt shoting down its motors evers. So from there I always manually shoot off the motors with the two joisticks
@@fotonbg thanks but even with the sticks they wouldn’t turn off properly but they seemed to have fixed it with the last firmware upgrade so it works fine now

Excellent video, Marcus. In those type of wind conditions, it's good to be able to reach into the Idaho Quadcopter arsenal and take out the Ari2S or Mavic3!

The drone did pretty well in that wind. 4mps (meters per second) is about just under 9mph (miles per hour) so I guess that speed into the wind is not all that bad but you needed Ludacris mode to get that speed. I had mine out in some fairly good wind yesterday and it did well. No warnings I don't think. Thanks for sharing.

I love my Nano+. If I want the best image quality, it's the one I use. I do wish the Mini 3(p) had better engineering with the micro SD card. It's a pain to use a screwdriver to remove and replace it all the time. It's definitely a better flyer than the Nano+. I put the Nano+ on par with the Mini 2 which is just fine. These sub 250g drones aren't built for the wind. Just too light. I've considered getting the Lite Standard with the RYYB sensor. Very impressed with that technology.
Pull the battery out first ..then it’s 10 times easier to pull and replace the micro sd card no tools required I promise

Hello i wish you could help me I don't know which drone should I buy if the nano plus or the Dji Mini 3 standard not the pro, I had the mini 2 and never had a problem or issue but I like the nano plus but people has said that I had problems with connection or problems with the return home and some other things can some one helped me please

Great flight!! I had to bring my Nano+ down early when the wind had a sudden uptick. The remote was very helpful when locating it. I'd love it if Autel offered a high capacity battery like DJI has for the mini 3 series, but I'm not holding my breath.
edit: The 3 pro currently costs much more than the Nano+, but the non-pro Mini 3 is competitive in price. The Nano+ has an amazing camera, while the Mini 3, from what I here, is pretty solid and an overall better flyer. It seems that choosing between the two is a compromise between flight characteristics and camera quality.
Yes, this drone's best features are the price and the camera. 👍
Hi Ken, Some months ago Autel told me that they would be offering a higher capacity battery for the Nano. Autel often promises, but is very slow on delivery of their promises, if ever.

Hey Marcus I created two free LUTs for the Nano+ to look like the Mavic 3 color science. Some have already try and they love it. Try it! One DJI flat colors and the other vibrate. The download links are on my main video at the description.

The drone gets blown around in the wind and it's no big deal but the gimbal being damaged is what I worry about.
Yeah, I wouldn't normally fly this one in much wind. 😁

When and which firmware provided the significantly better wind resistance? I got this drone when it was first released (I ended up returning it) and the wind resistance was just atrocious. Happy to see it evolved but a shame it's taken this long to get it to where it is today.
It is not a drone for windy days no question. I had updated to the latest firmware for this flight, I don't remember the version number.
The price of this has dropped to the point where I might pull the trigger. Wind performance was my only concern, your video came right in time. Thanks!

The beauty of this drone is that it can detect bird-drone near miss air collisions. By the way, the Autel Nano+ that I'm reviewing is from our good friend Ross of Queensland, Australia. It landed on my hangar. 😂

Hi Marcus, thank you for the wind test of the Nano+. I'm surprised that the Nano+ did so well in the strong wind. I only fly my Nano+ on very calm days, but may now take it out when there is a little wind. I really love the camera of the Nano+. BTW, did you use the anemometer that you recently reviewed to measure the wind speed?
