The main point of the setup is spotting the pocket and then forming / shaping around that one spot so that when you get it to the point that you can go catch, ideally with a harder thrower, heavies, machine. The mitt is already ready to go from a pocket perspective. It saves time reducing the mis catches / not getting the pocket that you usually get when breaking in a CM. Saves time and also helps the CM break in more "perfectly." With catchers mitts there really isn't any way that I have found to speed up break ins other than catching a lot of bullpens. So when I get the glove ready to start catching I want it already shaped and formed. It's made a big difference for me in the final result.
Great video! AZ glove lab has some sweet gloves!
Thank You!
Yes they do
Thank you❤
I want those plies for the laces..
Would like to know when you have the Japanese mallet/hammer available.

Hitting it from the back and making it wet. What are we talking about again? Lol
would you say you're using a box break in method or more the clam shell?

So what do you do to the glove when you "set it up"?

Should you oil a new glove during the break in process?
If you have the right type of oil it's fine. Try to find a product that is all natural.
What is the product you use to condition the glove?
I use Ballplayers Balm and Renapur Leather Balsam
Is that ball about 10 inches rather than normal baseball?
Yes it's a 10'" ball
As a catcher you look to catch the ball where the web and the palm come together, not in the middle of the palm. Come on now !!!
Bet ur gloves look like shit
That what I was thinking
Is that Xanax brand? Lol
funny
