Great video but you have to remember to set the attack point on the ground past the units you attacking. This way the units attack everything in their path vs all attacking a single unit and then moving on to the rest of the targets. Also, in a joust scenario the attack might have yielded different results. Still great video.
I have tried this already, the valks gets mauled badly since the interceptors recharge HP when returning to the carrier. They also fly in a random pattern that is not favorable for splash damage. The only time it's worth shooting interceptors is when you use golaiths to force the carriers away, the valks rocket will follow the interceptors to the carriers at any range and do damage to them.
I think they're unjustifiably terrible. About the same price of Valkyries and have a stronger AA attack than wraiths, but they haven't been needed in the meta for ages. Scouts used to have some strength on island maps in OG starcraft, but in BW Corsairs just do better for the most part.
And maybe better that way. I used to think that maybe Blizzard should buff Scouts with the speed without research and lowering their cost to be just a bit more expensive that Corsairs but then I realized that an Speed upgraded Scout would be imba in PvZ. If we don't consider cost, Scout is the best antiair in the game. Zergs will see Overlords dying twice as fast in the early midgame and force even more Scourges bc 2 Scouts one shot Scourges.
Currently, main anti-air seems to be marines, as Terran mech is currently looking a lot weaker than bio, and marines can kill most stuff that flies. (Or walks for that matter)
Always combine the carriers with scouts. Carriers are far stronger against ground to air units and scouts do a lot of damage against air units, a deadly combo.
That's an ideal composition, though it's probably more expensive and will never be seen because Terrans will only make Tank/Goliath. If Wraiths, maybe corsairs do a lot better at supporting carriers.
