Well done Dave. I was on the same peg the day after you. I went for the same reason, a practice for the Golden Rod. I chickened out and fished the pole on that peg. I finished second in the match
You may need to rethink on your practice as a catapult cannot be used also no feeding by hand

Well done, Dave. Obviously a great match. Shocked at Alan’s, language on the phone 😂. Always thought butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth, lol. I’ve never managed anywhere near 200lbs in any of the matches I’ve fished. But being more of a silver fish angler I don’t really expect too. Nice to see you doing it though. 👍😁

I'm currently using middy 4g's, was considering some xz's as an upgrade but was a bit worried they'd be to light in action with not as much backbone as the 4g's

A fair draw any day you catch 207 lb on bomb and feeder is good one and a section win well fished ps i would hate to go down those steps on a wet morning to dangerous

Buy yourself a clicker Dave i use one gives you an idea of what you have at the end im usually a bit under my weight but there handy if theres a weight limit on nets so you dont go over. There only £4.99 off that auction site we all go on
I’ve got one mate - it’s slows me down I’d rather put 4 nets in and split the fish but should have split them better 👍
