I have used MERV11 for years. No issue at all. It does a fine job. The pressure drop is not an issue. My house is seldom open windows stayed closed all year.
I have a question: we just had installed a Lennox ML 296 furnace. It is a two stage variable fan furnace. MERV 11 filter was installed on this brand new furnace. My question is, can I change that to a MERV 13 filter. Will that do any damage to the brand new furnace or should I call the Tech at the store or where I bought this furnace and had installed ?
I have a goldshield filter rated merv 11 been in the house almost 3 years and because the furnace is a rental they replace the filter once a year. Is that too little frequency? I also have an electrostatic media filter with Uv light that is replaced at the same time. Should I be changing it more often than once a year? This goldshield filter I’ve done a search and sells for $94 each
Hi how would you rate the Trion air bear filters? I was using 3M Merv 12 for my system however I switch to the Air Bear Merv 11 to make sure that the equipment stays running properly. I cannot find merv11 3M in my size anymore.
When comparing a new Mer8 to a new Merv 11 (of the same make), the static pressure drop was less on the Merv11. The issue then becomes that the Merv11 technically will need to be changed sooner because it will trap even finer particles ( if they are present) than the Merv8. I do not believe that the pressure drop between the two would be significantly different after two months of use.
This is so helpful! Thank you very much for making this video!
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful

Should be changed every 1-3 months if it is a 1” filter.
Which filter is best. One inch or four inch thick? 6:03
can I buy a Merv 11 that is re-useable???

Trion makes an excellent filter.
@@FurnaceFilterTalk how often would you replace a 20x25x5 merv 11 filter?

Doesn't it matter the year of your furnace? Mine are old Carrier furnaces from 1979
