I didn't know this piece before, but it reminds me very much of "Er Quan Ying Yue" (down to the low G-D tuning), and also the Cantonese piece Abing's piece may derive in part from, "San Tan Yin Yue" 《三潭印月》. All three pieces seem to share the cadential phrase | 2.35i | 6235 | 1 - | or something similar, so that must be a common section of musical "DNA."
