It's a shame they missed the decade before, as that was even more friendly. I turned 16 in 1990, so was lucky to be there from the start and my god what an experience. I met people from all over the UK and never ever felt unsafe at a Rave. Basically started with the Sweatbox, Fantasia, up to the Glens, then Royal Hotel in Forfar, Rezerection, Hangar 13, The Fubar, Nosebleed (Judgement Day), to sitting in a carpark with 100's of people in their Nova's, Feisties, XR3i's Renualt 5's and 205's. Every genre was played at these events until it started splitting apart in 96, so i'd say we appreciated all kinds of music, but my love was for Hardcore in all it's genres. Had the pleasure of seeing some of the best dj's and bands at the time and buzzing for weeks afterwards. Met some amazing people back then too, it was just a whole vibe and everyone and i mean everyone was on the same level, no bullshit, no arguing and not one bit of violence, even with people from rival towns.
