    Just want to share some tips from my part of experience with the UMP. For the bolt catch lever eating into the receiver issue, there's a method to put a piece of plastic (unused credit cards ex) in between the bolt catch lever and receiver(Glue it on the lever side) . That way it will minimize the gap, protect the plastic receiver and make bolt catch function more reliable. Just needs checking on the plastic card from time to time. For the strong magazine spring, an option spring is available that will make loading more easier. (Azimuth Magazine Spring for vfc ump)
    Enjoyed the review and keep up with the videos!

      Thanks man. I'll be sure to try this tips. I had a friend make from scratch a thicker bolt catch to fill that gap but didn't work. I try you way. Magazine spring I'm afraid lighter one will make for the pin that activate the bolt catch also lighter. Or won't it?
      Once again thanks for watching man, and thanks for the tips.

      @@g.p.airsoft I also had the same concern that the magazine bolt stop pin would have lighter force to push up the bolt catch but had no issues at the time.
      Only shot about couple hundred rounds after replacing the spring before i sold it so not sure if its going to be reliable in the long run. :P

    This is a really nice review, I am planning to buy this as my first gbb smg/rifle choosing between the umarex ump 45, umarex hk416 gen 2, and the ghk G5 with your review I have seen problems not discussed on reviews, the biggest issue I saw up until now is the bolt catch eating the plastic away as the comment stated above Ill just place something between the lever of the bolt catch that so the receiver it self won't get damaged or that worn if I do decide to get the ump 45 all in all very informative :D
    Edit: looks like the magazine is a pain to maintain because of that specific rubber feels sad man idk where I am even gonna get those...

    • @g.p.airsoft
      @g.p.airsoft  2 года назад +1

      True man. Mags are the worst in this gun. My recommendation would go to the 416 . Easier and better. I only still have my ump.45 because of the collection, as a playable gun, I don't think I'll use it again. As the 416 is easier I thing is better for you to start so you don't dislike gbbr because of a bad first gun. Ghk never owned one to give my opinion but I hear great thinks about it.

      @@g.p.airsoft I see thank you ill just add more to my budget tbh, since I want a gun that will last me for a really long time. Its going to be my first rifle of any kind since I only have pistols, friend suggested I get a AEG, but I want to feel the recoil welp ima scrap both G5 and ump since all of the polymer guns I researched all ended up either breaking in half or just being worn away with use. Ima just go with a full metal build

    • @g.p.airsoft
      @g.p.airsoft  2 года назад +1

      @@cruxsc4577 I always suggest people to start with AEGs because gbbrs take a little more of care and maintenance. There are electric guns that simulate recoil better than gbbrs. I don't know the name but I've shot some. Also between 416 and ump . Ump has heavier recoil because is all polymer body and a heavy bolt.

    You probably got a V1, the V2s (UMP9) and the V3s (The new UMP45) are flawless except for the mags, fragile charging handle, or lack of steel internals (But who cares anyway, as long its not like a WE tech internals)

    I didn't hear a single thing in this video that would make me assume the UMP45 is a bad gun. Just small gripes that you didn't like that ultimately are easily fixed with a little work. Even that bolt catch can be replaced with a custom steel version, and suddenly, you won't have problems anymore.
    Then again, I come from using Tavors, where basic maintenance is a headache. My KWA Tavor is 100 times worse to work on than this, but it's a tank, lol.
    I'd say people who want a solid gun out of the box that will last forever without issues or anyone looking for a reason to hate literally everything except the TM MWS should hate this gun lol.

    • @g.p.airsoft
      @g.p.airsoft  Год назад

      I hear you. But compared to my other maybe 20-30 gbbrs this is the worst one. Having in mind that I can barely find this gun to buy in my country, custom parts are just not available.
      I honestly don't expect guns to last for ever, but the fist thing I try out of the box is if the gun locks open.
      And in my humble opinion the internal design could be easily improved in this gun.
      The again, I show every little detail that I can find on the gun. I believe that it is up to the person watching to say if it is a good or bad gun for them. For me is not a good gun, I will never sell because I like this model but I won't be using it again.
      Over all I understand your point and I don't think you're wrong, it is all relative. Thanks for watching the video and giving me such a good and detailed feedback.
      Hope you have a great day.
      PS: not a fan of marui, but I've never had one in my hands to judge. Last one I saw here cost 4x more than a regular gbbr.

    I have a V2 and my bolt catch snapped clean in half after probably 500 rounds 🤣
    Also, the hop up chamber seems kind of fussy about which barrels it will take. I tried a Crazy Jet 303mm and the grooves would not line up. Does anybody know which barrel brands it likes?

    I just picked up a used what im assuming is likely a V3 or V2 at least and while everything looks pretty good on so far it is missing that barrel piece yours is missing that centers the inner barrel. Do you know where to find replacements for it? if not maybe a thick o ring would suffice and actually stay put since it would grip both the outer and inner barrel.

      @@g.p.airsoftah ok what about the recoil shock electric version of ump45? well i kinda like the fine in-between rifle and smg design of the ump45 it's like lighter rifle length smg. could save gas money and less maintenance. But if i have to i guess the compact design of mp7 is ok. Or i might just go for p90 😂

    How difficult is it to find replacement parts? like bucking, inner, nub, nozzle? is it compatible with other internal parts??

    • @g.p.airsoft
      @g.p.airsoft  2 года назад

      That's not an easy question to answer since in my country almost everything is not that easy to find. But standard VFC in here, like 416 parts, are already rare. This gun, there are not many around, I assume is even harder to find spare and upgrades.
      I probably didn't help much but it is what I know.

  • @themaggot8440
    @themaggot8440 2 года назад +4

    I've got two of the V3's, one of them a UMP9. I unfortunately (or fortunately depending how you look at it) have not experienced any problems. Granted I don't think I hit the 100 match mark with it, but it should be coming up fairly soon. I know for sure I got well over 20k rounds on one of them. I don't know if I lucked out or what but my UMPs just give'r hell man lmao. I did change the barrel and bucking because mine started spinning inside of the outer barrel but after that it seems to be a scalpel.
    One thing I have to mention, the bucking for this gun is completely rounded on the outside, there's no little rectangle piece to slide into the hop-up unit itself to stop it from rotating like mine did. A maple leaf bucking solved it for me as it had that little protrusion to interface with the hop-up unit. If accuracy begins to be a problem, that would be my best guess! Hope they run better for ya in future, these things have quickly become my favorites!

      Thanks for letting me know man. Both of mine are probably not V3. VFC improves every number they rise after the "V". So they probably fixed some issues on the new ones. Good to hear you are not having problems. For me bolt catch fix and better mag seal would make this an amazing gun. Because the UMP is classic and I love it.

      @@g.p.airsoft I've definitely heard issues with their mags, I ordered six of them from WGC a couple years ago, they are still holding up well thankfully. Absolutely love that the two round burst almost sounds like one shot lmfao. I fitted a Bifrost tracer in the UMP suppressor and that's been pretty fun in dark games lol.

    • @g.p.airsoft
      @g.p.airsoft  2 года назад

      Sorry man. Lika I said in my country is just impossible to find. My best guess world wide is evike. Normally brands like We and KWA I know some Chinese manufacturing company that sell some parts but VFC I have never found a place like that.
      If you're referring to the part in the end of the barrel, in the flash hider that centers the barrel I'd recommend you do use some Oring to do the job. Is what I did to mine.
