    The Lincoln's I saw MS65 or less for all of these because only one has full strike and the reverses have 20+ marks and that is just to many marks for any grade over MS65. Love the Dime and thanks for sharing.

    I love Rosey Dimes but no money to be made in them. Lincoln Cents are tough to get that DAMN elusive 67 which can bring you some $$$$. I personally would and will soon find out if I'm correct that if you can find a great looking 66 Lincoln in a OLD HOLDER from NGC/PCGS/ANACS & if the price is right crack them out and go for a 67 from NGC or PCGS. Worth a shot IMO

    I have a MS65RD 1955S cent. I bought it many years ago and paid very little for it. As a kid collecting pennys for my Whitman album I always enjoyed finding ‘55S cents in circulation because they were considered a tougher year. It’s also my birth year so it’s cool to me.

    I don’t like penny’s or cents and I really don’t like videos about graded copper coins but I like this video.

    Subbed a dime recently and it graded 67+ which blew me away. Love the color on these.

    The Roosevelt dimes are quite pretty. I don't generally collect those but they look just fantastic. It's unfortunate that they topped out at ms 66. Thanks for sharing those with us!

    55 dime looks to me as an end of roll toning. Nothing on the reverse as it was against another dime. The 57 looks like an album toning though, although I suspect a dipping quite a while ago. Looks like tong marks on the untoned part.

    I thought the first of the 55-S Lincolns might have graded 67, the others not so much.

    Tell that to the buyers of the "LuLu" Walkers! Yikes - a couple points that are not appreciable except when in holder with some toning on them...

    I have MS64 Morgans that I wouldn't trade for 66's. I'm all about the coins, but I'm not going to lie, the grade/designation does have influence sometimes. Thanks as always!

    Those dimes are a good set actually showing what you need for a + and a *. NGC is REALLY stingy with *. You can send in a whole box of really nice coins and not get one.

    Is it just me??? How & why were those dimes not 68 or 69. Where are the marks on those dimes that take away from perfection?

  • @667hodge

    67's don't come easy

    • @jeffw1267
      @jeffw1267 3 года назад +1

      Also, those dates tend to be blazers so the graders are a little harder on them. It's the same philosophy they use on the 1881-S Morgan dollar or the 1909 VDB Lincoln cent. They have to be superior to hit a grade.

  • @jeffw1267
    @jeffw1267 3 года назад +4

    I hate to be a Negative Nellie but I could tell in about a second that none of those 1955-S cents would get a 67. They max out at 66 for a couple of reasons, in my opinion. The coins have incomplete strikes to varying degrees (note the flatness in the NW part of the O in "ONE") and they've all got significant marks. Some people don't notice the marks on the reverse letters but I do and I'm sure the graders do too. The 1955-S generally comes so nice that it will have to be virtually a perfect blazer to get a 67. And as you mentioned, 67s don't have a huge value.

    Would you rather get a star or a plus when you send in a coin? Have you ever received a plus *and* a star on the same coin? NGC's website says it's possible.

    • @champstar9669
      @champstar9669 3 года назад +2

      The plus *and* star combo would certainly be a rarity worth owning just for that.

    • @pawpatrolnews
      @pawpatrolnews 3 года назад +2

      @@champstar9669 True, that would be cool to get a coin back like that. Although the plus means that it's very close to the next grade up and it probably would have been better that grade with a star, but it would be totally cool to get both anyway.

    • @TheCoinGeek
      @TheCoinGeek  3 года назад +1

      I was going to say give me both- but I am always happy to see a star-
      Plus signs tend to make me angry! 😝

    The funny thing is when your video started I thought to myself their in 65/ 66 grade. Most of your coins have marks on Lincoln's face.

    • @jeffw1267
      @jeffw1267 3 года назад +2

      Also they all have planchet marks on the highest part of Lincoln's bust, which in theory should not affect the technical grade. But I don't want those marks on a high-grade coin. I guess it's up to the individual.
