True, but in those cases, the puzzle is one where you know all the rules and/or pieces. Like a rubix cube. You know how the puzzle works, but you may not know how to solve it, and your brain can continue trying to solve it subconsciously or while you sleep. This is a different phenomenon. This is him gaining new information he did not have in a dream that turned out to be 100% accurate. Now, maybe he's lying, and this never happened. Personally, I believe him, because I have experiences similar events, and so has a girl I dated.
@@davidtucker9498 I mean its still a puzzle, it's a puzzle of guessing what the level designers are likely to do next. There are patterns that can be figured out.
BRO THAT HAPPENED TO ME TOO!!! I had my first dream that I remembered in a while. Halfway through, my mom came to me and my sister, and said “don’t worry, I’ll get both your favorite foods: Strawberry and sherbet.” It was very weird, especially since that not me and my sisters’ favorite food. It was very random. But then, later that same day, my sister and I went to a party. Guess what my mom said was offered there… strawberry and sherbet.
I’d imagine that his brain was just hypothesizing about the position of a seemingly absent checkpoint, and in his sleep, there was a realization that a likely position to cleverly hide a checkpoint would be in a seemingly deadly spot.
The videogame scenario is also not equivalent to finding a box full of cheese and m&ms in your attic. Humans are incredibly good at pattern recognition. We even see patterns where there aren't any (like faces in clouds etc). Videogames always follow a strict pattern of level-design that your brain filled in, but finding a random box with highly specific and unpredictable objects is not your brain completing a pattern. If I (an unspiritual reductionist atheist) had a dream like the box scenario happen to me twice or more, it would be enough to make me belief that humans have extra something like extrasensory perception. But the videogame example is just normal human brains doing their normal human brain thing.
When he was describing the level I remembered how frustrating it was cuz i couldnt find a checkpoint. So I threw myself down the hole to commit mario suicide and found the stupid freakin checkpoint lol.
You know I’m a guy that I know that if I’m in a castle then there should be lava there so I just stayed there and when I see lava I would wall jump back up
The third eye, intuition, and premonitions are definitely real. The wild information and experiences I’ve had could fill a book. Maybe I will write a book lol.
I think that dream was your brain asking itself the question: "what if...?" like it was thinking of ways to beat that level and found one that convinced it
When he said 1 in a million that’s what he was referring to, even if he slept for half a day the chances of him coming up with the excact future in that excact way is near a 1 in a million chance probably even less

It’s weird how people say it’s deja vu because that’s a recalling of previous events that actually happened. While when this happens it was unknown and it never happened in real life before, until after the dream. So it’s not deja vu it’s unknown
This is actually a pretty common thing! Your subconscious permanantly works along with your counscious mind. You thought that there HAD to be a checkpoint there, otherwise the level was quite unfair compared to precedent castles. Your subconscious tried to synthetise it, and since you played the game all day, you dreamed about it, and your subconscious remembered that. Also note that memory - especially old ones or from dreams - are extremely vague, and sometimes when you're not very sure you saw something in a dream and you see something similar the day after, your brain just puts the two together as one memory. Brains are strange yet amazing! (Sorry if my english isn't perfect, i'm french :p)
Kinda welcome to my life? This happens tons to me and I've read that explanation myself a while ago. I don't rly believe it tho, like often I can tell that that's happening because it's kinda vague. But I don't know how I should explain me knowing what will happen in the next 3mins in detail, even where I'll look. That's just so weird.
This is actually correct and I practice this. The human brain is far smarter than the best supercomputer and it sometimes works far better when you're asleep coz all the other distractions that our other senses give it are now inactive and in this state your brain can properly calculate it's best course of action and in the end give you promising results and calculations... He it has pictures too! Sad thing though that almost everything that happens in our dreamscapes are lost almost immediately when the brain declutters itself half a second later...
One time something kind of similar happened to me, except it was a thought, not a dream. On a plane to Mexico with my family. To help myself stay calm, I closed my eyes and imagined I was swinging on a swing at the playground that was at the elementary school I went to, facing the play structure and some of my friends running around doing silly stuff. Around a month later, around a week before school ended, that exact thought from the plane was… actually happening. Same swing, same kids, same position, everything the same. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not.
I've always had dreams that show me snippets of future events, at least any that aren't night mares, I don't remember my dreams but only those ones that give me future things, it always happens and it sometimes takes a few years or days for it to be true but it happens and I get a huge whiff of deja vu and it's just weird for me
So everybody else is talking about his face, his face, their own stories, or other stuff, while me and like 2 other people are just happy that he uploaded something during quarantine. *please make more videos*
Even after 4+ years, this is such a cool story! It’s fascinating how dreams like yours can blur the line between coincidence and subconscious insight. The 'Tetris Effect' might explain how intense focus on something (like Mario) carries over into dreams, but solving the level based on a dream? That’s next-level subconscious problem-solving! Whether it’s a premonition or just your brain working overtime, it’s a reminder of how amazing and mysterious our minds are. Also, the humor (Santa Dad, farting) makes it relatable and timeless. Thanks for sharing this-it still holds up!
Possibly the camera started following you when you were late to jump. You didn't consciously notice it but in your dream, you took that small frame and extrapolated with what you wanted to be there. You felt that the checkpoint should be there and it was, not because you're magic but because it was good game design and you have played enough games to make an educated guess.
Also dreams are difficult to remember and your brain is a broken iMac running a buggy simulation of reality, so it's also possible that the dream wasn't a perfect replica of the level but his memory retroactively put the details in that it didn't record from the dream once he found it IRL
Once I had a dream that my friends and I were playing soccer on our school’s field. Our school field is separated by a brick wall between the field and an empty dirt lot next door to the school that the school doesn’t own. Anyway, in my dream the goal was against the brick wall between the field and the lot, so as I was playing I saw that there was some type of construction going on in the dirt lot, most notably a big crane carrying a metal I-beam. At the beginning of the dream, the I-beam was on the floor, but as the dream progressed, it was getting raised higher and higher by the crane. At one point, when the beam was at least 70 yards high, the crane released the beam and the beam started falling. I saw it fall almost in slow motion, it came closer and closer and closer to the ground until the moment before it hit the ground, when suddenly my alarm clock went off and woke me up. So basically my dream just set me up for my alarm. Em Pulse, you had a logical explanation for his dream, do you have any ideas or theories how this could happen? I really couldn’t come up with much.
One time i had this RANDOM dream. A woman with blond hair in a ponytail giving a presentation. On the screen was a dead tree. I have no idea what the dream was about or who the woman was or where it took place. I wrote it down in a book. A few months later, i was at a camp, and the SAME WOMAN, SAME PLACE, SAME DEAD TREE, was there. turns out the presentation was on anxiety and depression

Ive had this happen before. I call it “dream deja vu” because when i experience it it feels like deja vu but i know what about to happen in the next 10ish seconds from the dream
Jup, had that a few Times. AAAAND because i knew what was about to happen, one time i refused to let it happen exactly like that so i just did something else instead. Lol
When I have this happen, it’s more of like, when I wake up it feels like I’ve had that dream twice, and it just feels really familiar, but I’m too tired to care
I'd argue that after literally decades of Mario games, their level design has become somewhat predictable to the point where you correctly guessing that isn't too massive of a coincidence...or maybe you're just friggin' magic heck if I know
Question is, had a mechanic like that been used in the game previously? bc then obviously he could’ve just made the connection himself... but if they hadn’t done something like that before than what you say would be unlikely

Yeah, that’s Logic

@@expression3639 well that's just true in general
So he probably saw it somewhere and forgot so his brain while asleep dug back to that memory and he dreamed about it
This is actually correct and I practice this.

You felt that the checkpoint should be there and it was, not because you're magic but because it was good game design and you have played enough games to make an educated guess.
no he has a 3rd eye i think
Also dreams are difficult to remember and your brain is a broken iMac running a buggy simulation of reality, so it's also possible that the dream wasn't a perfect replica of the level but his memory retroactively put the details in that it didn't record from the dream once he found it IRL
He could have also watched a let's play of the level years ago, but didn't consciously remember details until his dream dredged it up.
Or even just wishful thinking that happened to be true.
