it's pul-mu-one. also heh-teh and loat-deh. we weren't introduced to beef and pork sausage until we became more westernized. "sausage" sold at market was always fish cake variant and original corndog had fishcake instead of actual beef/pork sausage 🤷♂
Your fish sausage observation. Idk how true this is but my brother lived in Korea for 2 years and told me that in Korea they used fish sausage for korean corndogs because Korea does not typically make sausage or hotdogs, those are imported. Hope this helps answer that
Hi gurlyy, just wanted to let you know that Koreans don’t call these as “corn dogs”. They actually call these “hot dogs”. So some of them might have the word “corn dog” in English but in Korean, it is actually 핫도그 which is “hot dog”. So when they say hot dog, they dont mean they used the actual hot dog sausage. They are just calling the food “hot dog” haha
I wonder if the fish hot dog is to get around the import and customs rules. I don’t think you can import products made with meat from most foreign countries into the US, but maybe you can import fish products?
