His ERA went to 14.00 in 2009, when he gave up so many runs in one game, that ESPN, I believe, came up with a theory that there was perhaps an accidental wind tunnel with the way the new Yankee stadium was built. Any way, Chen Ming Wan never bounced back after that pulled hamstring.

Also, Johan Santana for the Mets in 2008. He pitched his best game ever, I believe a perfect game or at least a no-hitter, winning the game and destroying his shoulder. It was the last week of the baseball season and he either was never the same again from 2009 on or, he never played again.
