@@jamiewindsor Honestly, it's the thing that differentiates if from just a regular talk about color I've seen so many times. I think it's a very good idea to put more of those little technical explanations, especially when it isn't that complex to present. Additionally, it all came together in the end, because you showed how to work with complementary colors, not against them in HSL which was a key point of intro. Love your content! :)
@@jamiewindsor I also really appreciated this. I've been using the calibration panel for a while without really fully understanding what I was doing so this was super useful.
When you showed the bonus tip about changing to Camera Settings, my jaw literally dropped... No wonder it never looked right when I imported my photos! Thank you for that!
Never really got the difference between HSL and Calibration. Now I understand the power of playing with the calibraition ! Thank you for sharing your knowledges !!!
I spent a fair while thinking my EOS R didn't have as good colours as my 5D until I worked out that Lightroom wasn't applying the profiles from the camera.
Jamie, I hope you realize you have by far the most useful photography advice on this platform. Seriously. I cannot believe this content is free. Thank you for all your hard work :)
This quite literally changed how I approach grading ALL my photos and have given me a sense of excitement in photography that I didn't know was possible. Thanks for taking me back to school, Jamie. Always good to revisit design fundamentals.
Color calibration is called on affinity photo selective colors - something I’ve always ignored. As soon as I’d finished your vid I checked affinity with crossed fingers. Game changer.
Me, being the hardest person to concentrate on stuff, specially RUclips tutorials, I really love how you animate your videos to keep attention. Great job, Jamie!
I've watched several videos on color grading is this by far the best one I have seen. You did such a great job, I love how you showed the color changes on the color wheels and then on the images, made everything so clear and relatable. Thank you for explaining all this and taking the time to put together such a great video!

Hey Jamie, I just wanted to leave a comment to say that you are my favourite RUclipsr hands down. Calling you just a RUclipsr feels like a disservice somehow. Your videos are clearly made with a lot of passion and hard work and it shows because everything is so well thought out and well, incredibly enjoyable to watch! I leave every single video feeling revitalised about photography and inspired to keep creating and pushing myself to do better. Thanks !
The one and only photographer who convince me that studying photography could be more complex then my medical study , yet you provide information in a great way

I can't say thank ypu enough for sharing your knowledge. The way you explain things really gets to the bottom of a concept instead of just explaining how to move sloders in Lightroom or whatever tool.
Your videos are so lucid, well-spoken and instructive. The transitions, examples, and amount of thought and planning are really astounding. Thank you Jamie for creating such wonderful, informative and inspiring work.
Best RUclips channel because you concentrate on improving the creative process for us rather than the gear. Huge thank you. Taking me back to Art school. Please keep diving into subjects you find important.
Brilliant as usual. Even on a topic that for once I knew a bit about there were still some great new pointers, but what sets your videos apart is the connection to real-world fine art photography and knowledge of these concepts in practice, not in a vacuum or gear framework. Cheers
My mind is blown. That part about Calibration was amazing. Ive been a hobby photographer for 10 years now and that bit.. It was amazing. I feel like my photography knowledge just went up 1000%. I have seen thousands of RUclips photography tutorials over the years but that part was EASILY the best that Ive ever seen.
You can achieve what you are doing with the Calibration tool in lightroom, very well and with a far more control in CaptureOne by using the Color Editor + Skin Tone tool with its uniformity sliders. Many oversee the Skin Tone tool and think it's only a skin tone tool, but it can be used for any kind of color manipulation, then combine that with layers and the only limit is your imagination & creativity.
