- Hallam is back from the Brigade Convalescent after his trauma from the warehouse collapse, Nick is preparing for a speech to the Chambers of Commerce, debt collectors are after George's Brother-in-Law Cyril, a nice looking woman needs assistance back into "her" home but Kate is suspicious, Sicknote is kissed by Cynthia, a woman in their production of Richard III, a massive pileup on a motorway in dense fog proves to be a massive incident, and Karen, Bayleaf's Ex-Wife, kidnaps his daughter Melanie.

I live in US, but watching this series (and others as well) it's clear that better mental health care is needed all around. So many serious crimes are committed by people who are in need of supervised care of some sort. Instead, they are left undiagnosed and with no follow up care or tracking. All these mass shootings etc. could perhaps be prevented if more attention were paid in this area. Or maybe not. Just a thought.
Quite funny, while I love this show and have reposted it. I'm an American myself, and the situation in our country is abhorrent. When we finally take mental health seriously is when we'll see real results. I appreciate seeing another person on our side of the pond enjoying the show and I assure you, you are seen and heard❤️

So if the green bulb indicates pump only, then presumably the red bulb meant the other fire truck was also needed - But what if a fuse blew in one of the bulbs so it gave a false reading ?
On the printed paper that comes through it prints a copy for each of the appliances deployed to the shout. If it was the pump it would say E442 and pump ladder it would say E441.
Look at the print out Colin reads in series 4 episode 9 when they go to the chicken factory fire.
in those days the lights were operated manually by the watch room attendant (after reading the call slip) so if they did not work then it wouldn't matter because the details would be communicated verbally. these days dispatch lights are still in operation but the mobilising system vocalises which appliances are required

It just goes to show what bl**dy idiots some drivers are. Yes, there was heavy fog, and yes, despite the lowered speed limit of 40 mph, some were definitely driving way too fast for the conditions. Also, the flames of that fire would have been visible much sooner than their reaction to it, ending in a pile up. I've only ever driven on the motorway once in my 44 years of driving, and that was enough for me. I've never been in such a hurry as to risk the lives of myself and others, so I take the more leisurely routes and enjoy the scenery; however, I appreciate that some people such as truckers have to get from A to B by the quickest routes.
