So what is the church's position on this because we're only hearing one side of it. I don't believe that a church is not going to just tell you to leave if you're in willful sin without some sort of counseling and a chance for repentance. What's the issue? And to answer the question after 14 yrs teaching why now? Well most likely because in the previous years it may have been only speculation concerning his status. You can't accuse someone of something based on speculation; but now from his own mouth he has come out and exposed himself on social media (showcasing his sin). Once he did that the church had no choice but to sit him down until he turns towards the truth. Homosexuality is sin just like every other sin (it's requires Christ's Grace); however it is the only sin that a sinner suggests "that's who they are", and is showcased on the regular. I think God is dealing with the Body of Christ about a lot of things, specifically this sin. The exposure of gay leaders has caused the Church to see that it has to make a change or else! Pastors like Bishop Wooten and Bishop Herman Murray are rebuking the Church and other pastors are being convicted. They realize they can no longer compromise and turn a blind eye and deaf ear to sin in the house of God. He should have been relieved of his duty though.

The church did the right thing! I'm surprised it took them 14 yrs to find out about his lifestyle. Especially if he was open about it as he claims. Something is definitely wrong there. But I'm glad to hear they corrected it when it came to their attention. Sadly, there are plenty of churches that he can attend & work in that will accept his sinful behavior.

It's one thing to be gay and wanting deliverance and another thing to teach about God that you won't allow to change you. I know when I was choir director that the Holy Spirit convicted me so much that I sat down before God did.

You don't love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength....you love your identity and your lifestyle more....that is love coming from the wrong source and placed on the wrong object. Love is the act of the WILL accompanied by emotion which leads to action on behalf of its object (Voddie Baucham). You are outside of God's will, therefore you make decisions according to your flesh, not what God desires for your life....therefore you cannot properly love your neighbor because you are in love with your identity and as a result that love comes from the wrong source and is toward the wrong object (lust toward another man). The Church did the right thing as you are not biblically qualified to teach Sunday school.

If a person is living in an open adulterous affair and serving in the capacity of a teacher or leader of some sort, and the Word of GOD explicitly states that adultery is a sin, should that person be allowed to continue in that capacity?
Obviously no. People who are openly fornicating and living together outside of marriage should not be teaching or in any leadership capacity at a Christian church as well.

The church did not kick him out of the church. They relieved him from teaching Sunday School when they could prove that he was in sin - practicing homosexual ity. He said so. The church was correct based on scripture.

Title is a bit misleading. It appears he was removed from his position (the right course of action), not kicked out of the church. He needs to sit down and learn because he doesn't understand the Word of Jesus. He definitely shouldn't be teaching others when he doesn't understand the scriptures himself. I'm a bit taken back it has taken so many years and social media for anyone in the church to have an ounce of discernment or courage to address this until now.

The church showed you a great love for letting you go so that the Holy Spirit will stir your heart to repent and be saved. Teaching Sunday school doesn't make you a Christian, but putting your faith in Christ for giveness of your sins and be saved. Saved person will be convicted of your sins by the Holy Spirit for repentance. Now, it doesn't look like you acknowledge your sins and seek repentance

Those that teach the Word of God are held to a high standard. If a youth minister was revealed to be an unrepentant whoremonger, he must be removed from that position. It is a contradiction to teach the Word of God and blatantly live contrary to the Word of God. I hope this man understands this and experiences victory over sin through the Lord Jesus Christ.
What's the issue? And to answer the question after 14 yrs teaching why now? Well most likely because in the previous years it may have been only speculation concerning his status. You can't accuse someone of something based on speculation; but now from his own mouth he has come out and exposed himself on social media (showcasing his sin). Once he did that the church had no choice but to sit him down until he turns towards the truth. Homosexuality is sin just like every other sin (it's requires Christ's Grace); however it is the only sin that a sinner suggests "that's who they are", and is showcased on the regular. Every other sin is done in secret and isn't on public display, nor does the sinner embrace the sin as who they are.

What did I just hear? Did he not know what the church believes when it comes to homosexuality? For 15 years of attendance? What?! I too attended the same church, and it is very clear the teachings that comes down from the pulpit of pastor John K. Jenkins very clear. So he is naive to think, that they would allow him to continue to be around children. The churches need to do better in their interviews when hiring staff, especially, when it comes to being around children.

I think God is dealing with the Body of Christ about a lot of things, specifically this sin. The exposure of gay leaders has caused the Church to see that it has to make a change or else! Pastors like Bishop Wooten and Bishop Herman Murray are rebuking the Church and other pastors are being convicted. They realize they can no longer compromise and turn a blind eye and deaf ear to sin in the house of God. He should have been relieved of his duty though.
I just don't understand why individuals go to places where they know they aren't wanted and surprised at the treatment they get. 🤔. That's like me being a Black person and attending a KKK function and wondering why I'm being treated badly. He is not from a small town, I'd suggest finding an all inclusive place of worship that will be more accepting of his sexuality.

So apparently this church doesn’t even know their staff members and obviously don’t teach the word to conviction but only because of social media they are firing this person after 15 years of him handling children and being openly gay. I see the love, mercy and grace of God all over this. God had this exposed so that this young man would not be told to “depart from Me…I know you not” on his day of judgement, as the passage in Matthew 7:21-23 says. It is unfortunate for him that it took so long, but hopefully he’ll repent and realize God’s hand in this and understand that He works all things together for good. I saw they asked the question, “Why now?” Better late than never, to not miss heaven. 😞🙏🏾
