  • Keisha: Halle Bailey is tapped to take the lead role in Disney Freeform’s remake of The Little Mermaid.
    Everyone: Yay!!
Onika: I knew that. I knew that.
Kizzy: You did not know that.
Keisha: Entertainment Tonight posted on their Instagram page that despite the criticism that Disney Freeform has received for choosing Halle, they've got their girl and they're standing by their decision. So now, Onika and Kizzy, there are a lot of people on Instagram who are still livid over this choice. One person saying that the mermaid is a white character with red hair. And that Disney should not be so lazy and create a new character. What do you guys think?
Kizzy: I think it's ludicrous because she is a mermaid, a mermaid is not real.
Onika: She's a cartoon first of all.
    Kizzy: Cartoon, mermaids don't exist.

Disney really needs to recast the role of Ariel to a Caucasian actress.

    Historians say Cleopatra was greek/white

Thank you for your reply, but not so fast. During that period, the intermingling relationships between Egypt, Greece, southern Italy, Spain, India, and Northern Africa in general, produced people of color throughout the region. And, unfortunately, over time, Caucasians decided that they were the superior people. Hence the reason, today, Northern Europe does not hold Southern Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, etc.) in high esteem.

For 3 centuries the greeks ruled Egypt. Cleopatra ruled during this time. Her family tree is made up of greeks. What evidence do you have that Cleopatra was black?

You have to understand that Disney doesn't know what they're doing; creativity ended when the last living Disney influence passed away. it's all about a Socialist agenda and cashing in on an international audience that comprises an 11% minority audience. Disney does not care about the real Disney fans that have given them this opportunity to screw them. Watch and buy used Disney dvds instead of paying to see these ridiculous makeover movies. Show how much power you have with your spending money and don't send any to the existing Disney (by name only. Not my Disney & Not Walt's Disney!
Halle Bailey is not the right person for this role. All the supporters supporting this move are biased, ridiculous, and have nothing to do with the retelling of an established story with an established character. Also "Grownish" is a terrible show, and Ms. Bailey is not talented enough as an actress, nor is she an exceptional singer, due to lack of professional experience, to step into the Ariel role. Her supporters are hardly braintrusts themselves, and are just trying to stay on the left side of the business. Rob Marshall is just a Disney lacky and "Mary Poppins Returns" is not something to brag about on his resume. It has already been hinted that adjustments to the character and story will be made. This would seem only necessary to suit Socialist agendas and reach the left audience ($$$) while deluding real Little Mermaid fans into believing that "Disney Magic" is still intact. Become really woke and wake up to what a farce this Project is and what a bomb this film will be. Halle Bailey is "Not My Ariel" and Disney is "Not My Disney" anymore. Walt is spinning in his crypt.
The support for this casting is as fake as the fake media putting it out. "Not My Disney" will get the slapdow n they deserve for sticking it to real Ariel fans just to score a quick buck from fake fans.
You don't have to look far to find ignorant black people too.
