    I’m happy I found your channel when it was just getting started early on in my language learning journey. Many other Spanish education channels on RUclips have been around so long that it’s hard to find a good starting point with their videos. It’s great that they have so much free content for our use, but it gets a bit overwhelming sifting through it all. So your channel being a few months old is great for me personally because everything feels organized and I can easily keep up. And those subjects that I’m already familiar are great for refreshing my knowledge.

    Ser (to be) to be what??

    • @TeacherCatalina
      @TeacherCatalina  Месяц назад

      You're right, the English phrase "to be" can be a bit vague on its own. It needs more context to make sense.
      In Spanish, we have two verbs for "to be": ser and estar.
      My video focuses on ser, which is used for more permanent or essential qualities, like:
      Identity: Soy Catalina. (I am Catalina.)
      Origin: Soy de Colombia. (I am from Colombia.)
      Personality: Soy amable. (I am kind.)
      Occupation: Soy profesora. (I am a teacher.)
      So, "ser" helps us describe what something or someone is.
      I have another video all about estar, which is used for more temporary states or conditions, like location, mood, and health.
      I hope this helps clear up any confusion about "ser (to be) to be what?" 😉
