I appreciate this but I have also spent the last two weeks literally thinking “maybe I should let myself have some gel extensions for a few months and just swatch over them” 😂
Regarding the purple shade that evolved to pink over time ( current Plastik vs old plastik) I remember reading in the Polish Pickup Facebook group that multiple people had experienced bright purples that faded to a pink over time with different brands. Something about a neon purple isn't really stable over time. I wouldn't be surprised if old Plastik originally looked like new Plastik when it was first released.
Yeah. Watching everyone review this collection and mentioning it made me realize I should focus on using the neons I have before they degrade too much,, even though I REALLY want some of these new ones!
I have the same old Plastik with the black old label. Mine is definitely a neon pink and it always has been. The new one looks so purple next to the old one! I believe Cirque calls it a magenta but that’s very purple for a magenta, in my opinion.
I also have an older bottle of High Roller and thought I was losing my mind a little looking at the new version because mine definitely looks more blue/teal than mint. I bought some backups before I saw the swatches so it's a good thing I did end up liking the new version of it too. I look forward to the Vice collection each summer, but I will say, this year's Vice collection is definitely not as neon as past collections and I was a little bummed by the colors once I received the ones I ordered. I ended up swatching Plastik, Guilty Pleasure, Road Rage, and Mile High Club together and they gave me fall vibes. On their own, they're a bit more summery, but definitely not screaming summer vibes to me the way (old) High Roller and Electric Daisy do. (Also to note, Pyro is an orange/red and I agree it is a bit of a shapeshifter in different lighting; love it though and I'm not a huge red person. Something about orange/reds though pull me in.)
I think it's more color change formulation, than sitting in the drawer for eight years. Because I'm just a tad older than you! And before I started sincerely, collecting nail polish, I had a shoebox full of polishes that dated back to the late 80's. And most of them were still the same color that they always were. And some of those were neons, back when neons were sheer, and you had to put a white basecoat underneath. I kept it in the dark, in a drawer, so I think that might be why the polishes retain their integrity and their color. now that I have thousands of polishes, I keep them in IKEA Helmers and it's not a particularly air-conditioned room either, between Saline and Ann Arbor, Michigan. But you made me pull out my bottle of highroller which I bought in 2016. And I'm going to wear that today! Been going polish free for months to grow my nails out.
Thank you for the review. These colours are gorgeous, but cirque is hard to find in the UK. I'm looking forward to your OPI summer collection review. ❤
I think I’ve only seen two so far this year. I’m torn, I like the Cirque formula better than the KBShimmer ones, but at the same time, I’m bored of 3/4 of the Cirque collection being repromotes that we’ve seen several times over. I hadn’t heard anything about China Glaze summer but I wondered if something weird was going on, since there hasn’t been any news about a summer collection from them and it’s nearly June.
It’s tough to answer because it’s really dependent on your nails and what you’re doing with your hands throughout the day. My polish usually does chip the next day because of how flexible my nails are and how I use my hands. Capping the edge has made the biggest difference for me, but even that doesn’t give me more than a day or two.
I should’ve waited for your swatches 😅 I was so disappointed when I got mine to see the difference in person. My plastik is sooo purple I would never call it a pink. And my high roller is DUSTY I was expecting a neon pastel.
For some reason, I'm very invested in the mystery of the mutating colors. Someone get to the bottom of this! Pyro looks orange next to Road Rage, but if you cover Road Rage, it's red again.
There is something called “simultaneous contrast.” It describes the phenomenon of how we perceive a color changes based on what that color is surrounded by/next to. Color is wild!
@@jenniferw392 Sorry, those were two separate thoughts. I was wondering about the colors that *actually* changed and then I just offhandedly noted the effect of contrast. (But I didn't know that term, so thanks!)
That purple one is *chefs kiss*
I LOVE seeing swatches on natural nails. Might as well swatch on a swatch stick if you use a fake base. 😻

Yes! I actually originally mentioned that it’s a shade that’s very prone to fading but I stumbled over my words and cut that part out haha
I really appreciate the comparisons. Fading is real but with neons it seems extreme.

YES. I have learned the hard way too many times to not hoard colors that you really love.
Whaaat, new outro theme! Switchin' it up on us! :P Nice swatches, as always. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for the swatches and comparisons! ❤
Pyro would have been 2 years ago, game over was the red in vice 2023 ❤️
Oh wow…those two years went by fast!

Agreed! When I opened my bottle of plastik I thought it was mislabeled. I would not call it pink at all.
These comparisons were crazy!!! Plastik... I have to know what happened there.

I really love you’re wearing zoya zooey, I loove pixie dusts even if they aren’t popular anymore 😅

Lovely looking formulas and colours. TFS
Love it.

ASAP! The comparison section on a huge OPI collection is quite the task. I’m tackling it little by little while I work on other videos 🙂
Do you have a favorite neon collection from this year? Also, have you heard that China Glaze isn’t putting out a summer collection?😢

Nice colours. How do you keep nail polish on your short nails without chipping the next day?
Sticky basecoat, topcoat, maybe cap edges and be careful!

Do you happen to have ColorClub Jackie Oh? I wonder how close it is to Road Rage.
I don’t have that one, but now you’ve piqued my interest.

Aww, I’m sorry! I always think I’m going to have a video ready for launch day and it NEVER happens

So excited for road rage as I found pyro very orange on me when I wanted a red!
@@Wrknmom2 Everything looks orange on me! However not-orange it looks in the bottle. I'm basically a Smurf.
Please Cirque, update the boxes.
