Blu was to the only rapper that actually got back to me for a feature. I was ignored by many rappers, but blu came through. I had him featured on one of my songs, and don't regret it. I was supposed to only get a 16 from him (because thats what i paid for.), but he ended up jumping into the hook as well. Ive got mad respect for this dude.

Artist like Blu and Big KRIT shaped my upbringing more than anything else besides my parents. In my opinion, Below the Heavens is the most perfect album since Illmatic. Speaking of KRIT, you should release a video on KRIT mixtapes KRIT WUZ HERE and Return of 4Eva, the full versions not the Spotify ones

My favorite MC of the last decade period!
Me like yourself my first time hearing the legendary BLU is from him and Exile’s second album 💿- Give Me My Flowers 💐 While I Can Still Smell Them. I first heard this album 💿 during hurricane Sandy with no electricity nor heat just playing it on a disc man player on CD for the first time it brought me to tears when I heard “Only One” for the first time. Haven’t been moved by a song or album like that since and it had been awhile since an album moved me or touched my soul like that even before that first listen. So BLU and that album especially hold a special place near and dear to my heart until this day. The production and lyrics on that album transcend space and time and are very introspective. Not sure why that album 💿 hits me on so many levels but it does even down to the title and album 💿 artwork. I am a fan and will forever be a fan of their work and his work forever more peace ☮️ ✌🏾 !

I'm sure that one day he will get all the credit he deserves, hopefully he will still be around when that happens. Fantastic video and hope this one reaches people that haven't heard him before and they will have their mind blown as I did the first time I heard him rap. Hard to pick a fav album, but Below the heavens will always have a special place in my heart, so I'll go with that one.

this is all about blu and i love it! hearing a fellow blu fan for live talking about his discography from cali soul to africa, praising every second of it. the inspirations of blu could've been talked about too but it's not that extensive anyways so this is great :)
Needed this. I have never been a fan of Blu. See his name here and there but lately I have been intrigued about Blu and his music and this after listening to A Long Red Hot Los Angeles summer night. This was the album that made me listen to him more.

Blu doesn’t get enough credit in hip hop honestly. Been listening to his music since 2013 he’s definitely one of the best in the underground but it’s shame he isn’t bigger.

Most certainly one of my favorite emcees ever. A true poet for real, but wth happened to ANTHM? I was a huge fan of that guy. Smh if I'm not mistaken I think he has a pretty lucrative career so he just went back to that and stopped rapping. But idk.

I like blu as a lyricist but I was so disappointed when the lead single from “below the heavens” (my world is) used the same sample and loop as a smut peddlers track on “eastern conference 2” called “Red Lights” (originally produced by alchemist)….it’s a petty gripe but when I hear the same sample flipped the same way (even the pitch and second break is the same) it makes me disappointed on an album that’s not just a mixtape…dope pen game though, and this is a criticism of Exile really.
