Albin Johnson was the founder of the 501st legion back in the 90s, which is a cosplay group of Star Wars fans who dress up like stormtroopers. The in universe 501st legion (the one Ryan did his whole battle pack campaign about) is named after the cosplay group.

@@OkayYaraman 501st was introduced into the canon via the novel Survivor's Quest and Fool's Bargain e-book by Timothy Zahn. Its first canon visual appearances were in the Revenge of the Sith movie tie-in games as well as in the original Battlefront 2 game's single player.
QT-KT droid first appeared the Clone Wars show (renamed in the D-Squad episode arc to avoid name confusions with R2-D2) and a stand-in for RT-KT, the actual droid that was dedicated to Albin Johnson's daughter and that appeared in the Clone Wars movie. There are visual differences between the two droids so technically they are two tributes to the daughter in the canon.

The bandanna piece is actually reused from the Lego Mandalorian Pirate Snubfighter set.
At least the Slave Leia minifig looks quite "censored" enough at difference of the previous other minifigs, plus have double molded legs, and that helps a lot
A lot of people are complaining about the number of mini figs but I’m just goin got use the cantina and bobas palace figures. People are also complaining about the dual molded legs for not being “skimpy enough” 😒

$500 is waaaay too much for that, that being said, I do like that you can also get the Sarlacc pit to go with it and why it was bigger and more detailed than past sets.
The Imperial Dropship and Rebel Scout Speeder were mine and my brother’s first ever LEGO sets, respectively. I’m beyond excited to get my hands on this remake. As for the droid, QT-KT comes from a Clone Wars arc where she was part of an all-droid team tasked to infiltrate a Separatist ship. She was created as a nod to R2-KT (whose origin other commenters have already explained) since R2-D2 was also on the team, and they didn’t want to cause naming confusion between two droids both called “R2”.

The set looks good, but the fig selection is AWFUL. Compare it to Cantina:
Cantina was $399.99, 3187 pieces , Dewback and 21 figs 9 are still unique!
Barge: 500$, Jabba, 3942 pieces just 10 figures but most of them are small redesigns (AND HOLY SHIT, the C3PO IS ACTUALLY NEW and it STILL HAVE NO LEG PRINTS)
Litteraly just get old one at this point.

I love the sail barge so much, always wanted the set as a kid I might have to make this my yearly big Lego purchase
My criticism would be for the price it should really have a Sarlac pit and sciff build. Also Luke, Boba Fett, Bounty Hunter disguised Leia and Han being absent sucks

I own the $120 2013 version of this set. I'm happy enough with that, thank you very much. This $500 set is a hard pass. Although I do love that Lego lightsaber built.
