Seriously. I'm surprised they said no to Hera but yes to Nili for team secret. Much respect to Nili; I know hes done a lot for the community but seems he got more of a "pass".
Nili kinda sucks as a player but obviously he is better than all of us. He is ranked 22nd after all. And its a good balance. Tatoh and Viper are in the top 3 players in the world. DauT provides the support if required and Nili is the one who they expect to improve and coincide with the team. Should Hera join Secret; there is no way any team can ever beat Secret. That is not healthy for the community as everyone would know who is gonna win the competition and people would lose interest in team games.
Depends on the context. Their infantry and monks are pretty lackluster, but thanks to DE giving the Persians Trash-Crossbows I'd argue they're certainly one of the more overpowered civs now.
Na... Their knights line doesn’t have anything special. +2 damage vs archers doesn’t matter as both generic paladins and Persian paladins take out arbalester in 3 hits only. War elephants are too expensive too be of any use, easily countered, are slow and requires a huge economy to mass produce. Paladins are always better options. On the other hand top knight civs like Franks, Huns, etc have useful bonuses like +12 hp or faster producing stables. But Persians are a great civ just not a powerhouse knight civ.

You just have to mix them with light cav and archers/siege for monks and halbs respectively. They're not a good unit to mass, but their even moderate accessibility to cav use and archers don't make them entirely useless. My armies usually consist of light cav, 6-8 elephants, paladin, and typical archer support (usually just skirm but with DE I've mixed more crossbow in there too). Occasionally I'll throw in scorps because I really like them, but even with Persian eco it's just best to save gold for knights and elephants.
