      Look for PBT options on Etsy. sometimes you can find a good deal. That's where I got mine.

    any reason you didn't use the akko penguins? they'd be even quieter than the purples and you don't have to worry about slipping 100 o-rings on each cap.

      Didn't know about them lol or else I'm sure I would have. I think I remember seeing those but a lot of times the description doesn't really get across the audio characteristics, so I probably just didn't realize they were that quiet.

      @@jacobleetech yea akko last year tried and failed to make silent switches. Then they revamped and brought out the pengiuns anf fairys wich are impresively quiet.

    Awesome waiting for my v5 with blue switches (only one in stock I would have taken brown instead). Don't mind the extra noise but I have purple switches in my Redragon k550 and they're great. Wonder if it's the same kind of switch (still a noob about it :) )

    Hey man, you mind linking where you purchase your switches? I'm fairly new at this and am always looking for recommended sites/companies. Solid content!

    Ordered a v5 with browns for office use. Hopeing its fairly quiet. I ordered o rings aswell, so hopefully that helps.
    I might end up switching to those purples tho!Thanks for the vid.

      Browns are what I got on prebuilt stuff. Very similar to the purples, the purples are just a tad bit smoother imo, but browns are my go to for more of the easier to find stuff. Let me know how it goes when you get it built!

      Something I noticed is that if your keycaps don't have the little support walls in a "+" or " | " shape under, the orings dont come down far enough. (I realized this after I made this video)

    Those who need a numpad need a one with a double width zero key.
    Keychron gets the layout right with the q5 pro, but its only 3.8cm narrower than their full size q6 pro.

    • @jacobleetech
      @jacobleetech  10 месяцев назад +1

      I disagree, I definitely miss the numpad when I'm doing 3D modeling and video editing, but the single width 0 has never bothered me.

    6:28 haha, i understand that the caps are on the table randomly, but still try to put them in in order, haha. so if it's F keys, do them in order not random. Numbers/numpad.. in order, other rows in order etc.

    Sick! Where'd you get the O-rings? I'm entering the hobby as well, waiting for my V5 to arrive.

      Just got them on amazon. Make sure your keycaps aren't too deep, otherwise the switch will bottom out before the oring hits it and it won't matter (might dampen sound a bit? but not the bottom out)

    does this v5 compatible with Gateron Low Profile Switch?

      It seems like it would? There is a lot of clearance, but I would double check.

    Any suggestions about pros and cons about getting Knob version??? Thanks

    • @jacobleetech
      @jacobleetech  10 месяцев назад +1

      I didn't have any use for it PERSONALLY, but I haven't had good luck with 3rd party knob accessories working in the past, so I just opted for the extra button instead. It's totally personal preference though, and I don't have any experience with this one. I do use a PCPanel mini and a DAC AMP that I use for audio stuff and they have their own knobs. If you don't have anything for adjusting volume on your peripherals, then I can see the knob being useful, but I would expect it's not useful for much else?
      Again, I'm just guessing, but that's my best guess. Hope it helps!

    • @CristianSanchezz22
      @CristianSanchezz22 10 месяцев назад

      It helps a lot. Actually I was planning to get a Dac Amp too and I wasn’t considering the knob they have. very good point! I think I will go for the button too, perhaps more versatile for my needs! Cheer mate!

    Nice video for keyboard I have been interested. The song playing in the background was a bit repetitive and annoying. Could work better without it. But of course that's just my opinion. Otherwise, you have a good thing going on here. Keep doing these!
