Why at the start of the video wasn't announced echoey until the end?

The first set of announcements were recorded on platforms thirteen and fourteen. These platforms are in the open. The second set were recorded on platforms 1-12. These platforms are under the main canopy hence the echo. Also, the increase in number of speakers in the main station contributes to the echo I would assume.
