As many of you know, I have been trying to make a gluten free ( for many years now) bread, with close to no luck. But I am finally getting closer to getting one done! just a few more changes and we will be all good ( i hope). But in order to do this I needed more flour. So why not show how easy it really is to make it. You just need rice and a good blender, plus a few minutes of your time.
Share your Photos with me, I love seeing what you do.

SSSHSHHHEEEET ARMMMEEEHHH
Did u make it ?
ARMYYYYYYY also im also here for mochi
I never freeze the rice and my Vitamix turns it to powder in 30 seconds to a minute. You don’t need to stir it either. Just take it off the base and shake it a couple of times to move the grains around. Blend again and it’s perfect flour, thanks
All rice must be washed prior to consumption, to remove debris, pesticides, pest, and heavy metal particles left behind during processing.
I would sift it to. Cause I’m like that. Great video. Thank for your video. Show us your rice flour recipe’s.
It’s important to wash the rice. If you’ve seen mice run in the rice fields you know they leave droppings everywhere.
thank you
how your rice bread turned out?
Does the rice need to be washed?
Yes it has to be washed cuz its got bugs in it and other debris.
Great now I can make my delicious mochi
DailyEmerald Star YEAH!!!!
Meh too
Emerald World yeaahhhhh
Same same same
Ok same that's why I am here lmao
The reason of wetting/drying the rice is because all rice needs to be washed and rinsed. Rice has arsenic in it and need to be washed multiple times before human consumption. I learn from my mother that I need to wash the rice until the water is clear, I never knew why until I read from an article in Boston Globe. Just want to share my finding with you! :)
Dilys Wong nah, it's because the traditional way of making rice flour involves grinding it with stone. And you don't grind dry stones together
Although rice does contain arsenic, you're right. But arsenic is NOT water soluble 😔
In America, you wash the rice made here because it's coated in talc to prevent the rice from forming clumps. The talc is what turns the water cloudy. Arsenic is colorless, odorless and tasteless

Great info! 🙏🏻
thats why she end up with a lot of ungrinded rice because it wasnt soaked in water.
I m drinking blended rice and cinnamon right now D:
At 70, having cooked and baked all my life I am still learning.....from you!. Thank you very much, you are a treasure in my life. your cuppa friend.:)
+Christine Brush oh thank you. Your so sweet.
That's one powerful mixer/blender.
That's a Vitamix, it is not a blender, it is monster
Monster Mix! LOL
I really just like how simple and straight to the point this is
Add a bit of vinegar & citric acid to 1/2 gallon water, pour rice in, stir for 10 seconds, walk away, come back an hour later and pour off water. Boil rice 20 mins. Strain. Dump strainer onto wax paper. Throw in dehydrator. Come back next morning then take the dry rice, freeze it, then blend it. It's a ton of work, but not really and the flour you get is unbelievable. I was looking for a quicker way and yes you can do this, but don't be afraid of pre-washing things with low amounts of vinegar and citric acid. I do the same for potatoes. Just try presoaking potatoes for 1 hour with a couple 1-2 tbsp citric acid and a decent amount of 1-2 liters of water. Freeze & store the potatoes. Then cook them how you'd normally cook potatoes, they won't really burn or brown (takes much higher heat), they're cleaner, crisper, without the oil. By the way, one of the main reasons I do this is I use to use too much oil to cook potatoes. Then cut the oils out. And could never get crispy french fries again. But by prewashing potatoes, put just a thin shave of oil on a good pot, throw the washed potatoes down, you get real healthy, crisp, potatoes. And you pull a lot of the pesticides, slime, garbage out.
Washing rice is important for 2 reasons... 1.. cleaning (need I say more?) and 2.. remove starch if desired
Wash then place in dehydrator then grind ✌️
@@independentcreations4566 Also, doesn't it kinda reduce the bacteria and make it kinda more edible when raw?
I had the same thought about this a year ago darling! l did rice flour myself at home, using the same tecnology as you😊and is the first time I am watching your video. I always knew, that l woudn't be the only one to thought about that. The only think l didn't do it, was a video to show my descovery and l didn't had a hursband, to tell me that my criation was look like the rice flour we pay at market😊but, l congratulated myself😘😘Well done for you, you learned💋💋
I make mine with a mortar and pestle
Add (basmati) rice and a splash of water. Grind it around a little. Bash it a couple times. Open a beer, sip it and do something else for 5-10 minutes, then go back and grind it some more and it's done.
No need for a freezer. No need to bake it or whatever. The granite will naturally drink up the water and although you start with a paste like substance you finish with a dry powder in just a couple of minutes
Rice flower is an excellent lightening agent.. in skin care. As well as a face powder. It doesn’t have the sugar molecule which is excellent for the skin. Some face powders use cornstarch which is bad for the skin because it has the sugar molecules.
I was wincing so heavily when imagining not to wash/rinse the rice at all and use it straight from plastic bag... please wash your rice...
dvdgalutube habits are hard to break aren't they
She makes a rice flour video and you call her a b.... She didn't make rice balls in this video BTW. Rudeness gets you nowhere.
The water would ruin the flour.
dvdgalutube I shocked she didn't wash it.
The rice that exported from Asia are so washed and are ready to use condition.... so NO NEED TO WASH unless you are buying locally.
I make oat flour had no idea rice flour was this easy, man love to see a bread video with rice flour!
+imsoinstagram I am hoping to get the bread recipe perfect while waiting on my voice to start sounding normal again lol.
get some from chinese bun recipes
Going to try this, thanks!
Awesome. Thank you.
You are a lifesaver.
The rice that exported from Asia are so washed and are in, ready to use condition.... so NO NEED TO WASH unless you are buying locally. She's done a great job !
Noo~ you where ever the rice is imported from you should still rinse your rice no mattera what
I have been searching for this in the stores and can never find it... this is so easy I would have made my own a long time ago
Thanks for sharing.
You are a wealth of information! Thank you
OmG gUrL tHaNkS sO mUcH nOw I cAn MaKe MOCHI
Did it work
Ok, I like your method.
I use a Ninja Duo Blender and it does Great! Brown or White rice, doesn't matter.
Yayyyy!! Now finally I can make dango!!☺️🍡🍡
so easy!
Yassss now I can make rice cakesssss
Jessss thank youuuuu
great video!
I'm going to try this out! Thanks! I make white acorn flour. The acorns are free here and easy to find. The flour tastes "nutty" if you make sure to process it right.
Sweeet
Yay now I can make dango!!!! :)
thank u so much
I have a vitamix, I have the wet jug and the dry jug, I buy wheat berries and make my own whet flour, powdered sugar etc
+Jen Goods I know I can't wait till I need powder sugar!! No more buying it!! Or gluten free flours. Just loving it.
Now I can make rice cakes!!!!!!!
Now I can't use this to make rice cakes (tteokbokki) and mochi. Yay
Im tryna make some rice flour for my rice cakes. Wish me luck.
Now I can make mochi
You need short grain glutinous/sweet rice for that.
I even made navy bean flour
Before I got my Vitamix I would do little batches (1/4 cup at a time) in a coffee grinder (never used for coffee, only spices) and that worked well. Was ok for the bit I needed to make my kimchi paste, obviously not the fastest solution if you need lots to bake a cake, etc. but still an alternative to the soak/blend/dry process. In case anybody needs just a bit, you know. :)
+LyLy MoWa love that idea!
That’s exactly why I am looking this up! I have looked at all the darn krogers and nobody has rice flour for my kimchi I’m doing tomorrow 🤦♀️
you'd usually soak the rice to clean it..and more than likely they were probably using the rice flour to put it directly on the face
Exhibit C she doesnt need all at once so its ok.
Also mochiiiiii
Thank u
YAY I MADE MOCHI
Oh i cant wait to use this to help me make dango
Can’t we use the fine rice flour readily available in any Indian store?
Thank you for this method that I look for.Because It’s difficult to find at the store. But you didn’t say how long you freeze it?
I would recommend to wash the rice thoroughly before grind it. We eat rice every day and it takes 3-4 wash before it goes into rice cooker. You will see the diff in color of waters
chu Lee what kind of rice?
Another reason of washing rice is that it contains alot of starch
Do you have to use the dry grind for the vitamix or can I use the regular one? Thanks
+Ginger Shults the blades on them are completely different. The wet container pulls the items down. Where I the dry container pushes the items up.
So the dry container works much better. And hit is also thicker plastic then the wet one.
If you don't have one, it is worth the money to get it. I am using it for so much stuff.
The difference between your flour rice and the others is quantity if u need a good quanntity u have to let the rice in water then do all the other process, it will be doubled
i used a coffee grinder to bring brown rice flour and once i added water it had a terrilbe smell i wonder if washing would remove that
is it the same constitanty as bread flour, or is it like corn meal???? I did mine and it was a little less course than corn bread flour. please let me know thanks Nicky
It’s grainy but not like corn meal.
oh my gosh i didnt know that this was so easy. this is awesome! i always seem to run out being gfThank you thank you once again
+Diana Syth your welcome. I am here to try and help were I can.

I've made cooked rice my whole life. I've never read to wash it first. Isn't that something they would/should put on the bag?
Some bags print it on the back under instructions. Wash rice till water runs clean. Add to boiling water cook for x number of mins. depends on the rice type. The only one you don't have to I think is Minute Rice. I don't use that anymore. Basmati Jasmine & Italian rice are best IMO. Depends what your dish is too :)
Please wash your rice. It cleans it... Research that. It also allows it to cook more evenly. You will get more consistent results.
William Handy But if it’s boiling won’t the bacteria die out?
William Handy But if it’s boiling won’t the bacteria die out?
Everything I've read has said we're supposed to rinse our rice before we cook it. Which sadly I'm 60 years old and I guess I haven't done that enough. My question is when making rice flour how do you do that without rinsing the rice?
Now I can make Dango 🍡
Thanks now i can make dango🍡
Thank god I have a vitamix too lmaoo I don’t wanna go through all that trouble of soaking it
So you just easily replace it with white flour in baking, with the same recipes ? Or is there a change in them? I have gastritis so it makes it hard for me to digest normal flour😊
Cinderella 290 rice flour is substituted one to one for making gravies. For baking though, I don't know. "all purpose flour" is pretty special tbh
Anyone who saw my comment did it turn out to be good for the mochi
I use rice flour for facial masks
Leslie Corrin how do you use it? I want to do rice face masks so that's why I am here.
its also good for hair
@@madelyngrullon6264 Make a paste with rice flour and warm organic milk (can be Organic Soy milk), mix well, add a teaspoon (or more) of Organic Honey, mix well. (Facial mask)
Nutrí bullet works as well.
3:35 doesnt sound like a flour to me
Sound cute 💜😘
Do you think a wheat grinder would work for making rice flour?
Yes
ruclips.net/video/xeaCCBxVb-w/видео.html
I’ve heard that you should rinse your rice with boiling water to kill bugs and larva.
yay now I can make mochi ice cream!!
Nice video! I want to make sweet rice flour, how do i make it sweet? I just need to mix it with sugar? In that case How much do i need?
Sweet rice is just a name. There is no sugar. It’s all called glutinous rice
Wilhelms Kitchen wow that was fast n.n thanks!
also called "sticky rice" in asian stores
I think the purpose is to clean the rice from any chemical.
Did you make bread?? If so, how was it?
yes i did, it came out great.
ruclips.net/video/w5v2zzo8CK0/видео.html
I love how everyone is here to make mochi, cause same lmao
You need sweet rice to make that. But this method works for it.
Can i make rice noodles from it. :) for Stir fries ?
You can use normal rice right?
jessica 00914 yep
who would have known. can u do some recipes using this?
+Angel Balouta I will be once I get my voice back. I got my daughters cold.
Wilhelms Kitchen yes, I saw on yr Instagram that u weren't feeling well. sure hope u get better. no fun being sick. :( ;)
I love this method but, can I use this to make mochi? Please answer.
Perla Aguilar i can’t see why not. If it uses flour then this will work
Thanks!
You probably already know, but I will mention it regardless. If you want to make mochi you should use glutinous rice to make the flour. Regular rice flour will not work very well.
What about a food processor? I don’t have a high powered blender, and don’t wanna go through a lot of process.
Does it work with glutinous rice?
Reem al iraani yessss
What type of rice are you using, can we use any type of rice ?
Any rice works
Awesome thank you so much !
It doesn't look fine enough. I'm thinking of buying a Vitamix and I wonder if just running it for a bit longer would do the trick.
Is this true or i still need to wash the rice?
What type of rice should I use?
any kind other then the minute rices
Can I use a vegetable mixer instead
I am sorry but what is a vegetable mixer?
A food processor? If so then yes
This is so awesome to know. Does the scent cause any problems? Or is it a natural "scent" added to the rice?
🌾Merry meet ღ 🌿
+Sansa Stark it's Jasmine rice. It has a sweet smell to it.
Wilhelms Kitchen Alright, just wondered if it was normal Jasmine rice or if it had additives or something. =)
+Sansa Stark no additives. I think they just wanted to be fancy with their name.
Wilhelms Kitchen Probably Haha! That's crazy how companies do that.
this is soo much cheaper than buying premade one I even bough a mill and I'll see if it works
Do you have to wash the rice please?
Can I use long grain rice “ the Indian one”???
Yes
What do you use rice flour for?
+Gail Reese everything. It's the base of a lot of my baking and cooking.
It's a lot like wheat flour minus the gluten.
Excuse me, why are you freezing the rice? Does it make it grind more easily?
+Will Griffith it stops it from over heating in the blender.
Thanks for the quick response!
What does sifting accomplish?
Getting all the large bits out
@@WilhelmsKitchen thank you.
you wash the rice to clean it.
How to make the rice flour sweet?
No the rice flour is not sweet. There is a rice called sweet rice. Also known as glutinous rice
Add sugar
video starts at 1:10
Can I use it to make mochi... I live in India and I'm just dieing to have MOCHI... Plz
Yes
@@WilhelmsKitchen I tried it but It didn't worked.. I don't know where I was wrong
