I don’t know how many times I’ve washed my windshield just to barely be able to see out my window when it starts raining at night time bc of the idiots washing their fuel tanks with the squeegee and getting diesel all over it.... needless to say, I don’t wash my windows at the truck stops anymore!
dunno bout having the cdl pulled but by gawd someone needs to have a jug of ww fluid deducted from his pay and sent to the truckstop as compensation. maybe even a new wand, too, cuz the washer sponge now has all sorts of road grease, etc, embedded in it.
give him a choice: reimburse the truck stop or find another damned job, the entitled, oblivious, ignorant jerk.
I'm in the fuel island at 2 am eating with no other trucks there. I do doubles at night. Some idiot trucker walks by and shakes his head because I'm eating in the fuel island when there are a bunch of spots open. No common sense.
The fuel island is not your parking spot. At 2 am or 2 pm. Doesn't matter. Move out of the way. I used to run FedEx, all overnight runs. Not one time, in many years of driving, did I ever consume food at the fuel island.

Learning ENGLISH will be part of the CDL test, if you can't speak it or read it, you can't be on the road driving a semi truck, or 80,000 lbs vehicle....

I saw elsewhere the prime driver who jackknifed said he was cut off by the white suv and he tried to avoid hitting them and ended up blocking the road in the process
Yeah, I saw his comment on You Tube. He said he was trying to keep the distance but the white SUV or pickup truck cut him off and he had to maneuver around him to avoid hitting him which we all know ended up in a jack knife...
I saw that report also.
I hope he was smart enough to be using a dashcam. I don't know why more truckers don't use them, even a cheap $50 one from Amazon is suffice.

The shot with the Prime was done on I-35 south of the twin cities. Second or third big pile-up in this area this winter so far! Happens EVERY time it snows!!!

If nobody else is at the fuel island I'm okay with taking a break and eating dinner there. I'd rather someone do that than take a parking spot. But if it's busy that's a different story
If it was late at night or early in the morning all the spots are taken by the 8 to 5 drivers.

When I drove for Builders Transport the Marathon fuel had the most lot lizards.

The guy having a fancy sody water at the fuel island points to something I see constantly: There will be 10 fuel lanes, 7 will be empty (but open...) and 2 or 3 trucks will be lined up at the other 3. WTF is that all about? Is it just to give them a parking space while they get a cheesie burger or something like that?

Personally, if there are open fuel lanes, I see nothing wrong with pulling past the pump to the pull up spot and taking your break. Obviously, if someone comes in behind you, move. But if it's empty, what's the harm? Especially if there's no parking. Id rather a driver take a 30 at an empty fuel island, than on a ramp where they can get hit.
I am so damn late to this party! Y'all wouldn't believe the day I've had! Well....y'all are fellow drivers so I guess you would! I had one of those.... "Everywhere I went no matter what I did there was construction, a wreck, moron 4 wheelers, rude shippers ...you name it!!!" days! I wouldn't have been surprised if I saw Elvis driving a cottonpicker while blocking both lanes! That kinda day! 😣

I have the same feeling for a trucker who slides off into a ditch as someone who's car has stalled in the middle of the freeway or traffic. Its so damn embarrassing but you figure it can happen to the best of us no matter how careful versus someone you have no sympathy for for leaving their Rig in the middle of a fuel island and making everyone wait. That trucker being assaulted by his 'wife' while his (presumed) daughters are watching is just awful. Those poor girls.

I’m a ups driver…my truck gps went out and I had to use google maps…and it took me down a road where the bridge height was 12’2” and a 13’3” sign posted at a junction…i was pulling a 53’ thank god it wasn’t a set of doubles…narrow junction I had to jack knife the trailer to the left and turn around held up traffic for about 3 mins…when I finally turn around a guy gave me thumbs a up…thought I wasn’t going to make it myself it was to tight…a utility pole was on my right while I’m jacking the trailer to my left…I’m like yea I’m gone be on bone head truckers 😂

6:12 - i have done just this taking the mandatory 30 min brk. I went behind to the driver (thankfully, awake) and mentioned it to him. Big smile of relief and said go ahead. other than that the only time i've seen this situation (and it is NOT me doing it) is cuz some guy just doesn't wanna pay for a reserved spot - assuming it was open and hadn't been reserved via a truck stop app.
Prime messed up bad and then all those other people were following to close for the conditions.
Apparently, the white SUV cut him off and he tried to avoid hitting the SUV. But looking at the aftermath, he'd have done better to just hit the SUV, considering the weather conditions and the traffic behind em

Like today, up here in the mountains of West Virginia, turns posted as 55 mph, so I slow down for the turn, yet get passed by other trucks going well over 60-65. Can look at me weird all day long, no fucks given. But when ya truck skids and you run off this mountain, I'll still be getting to my drop on time, because I planned correctly lol
@@TheDeathsAvenger Turns are not posted at any speed. The speed signs for turns are SUGGESTIONS. You don't have to take them at the posted yellow speed.
@@brandonhebert5485 I didn't say the speed limit changes. But they do have posted signs and in some places flashing warning signs for certain turns. But safe bet in a semi is to do around the speed posted and not the speed limit. Takes a few seconds to slow down then speed back up. Would you rather that or flip your truck and go no where and possibly lose your license entirely.
