So turns out there is a version of 'Start Me up' that was ported to Xbox, Bethnet is a terrible search engine haha. The description is updated and here it is as well for you xbox users. bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/4087682
What I REALLY want is to be the Minutemen General that DOES NOT do GENERAL, menial tasks that rank and file grunts usually do. Unless I see a mod that enables me to gear up an assigned team of NPCs with INSANELY OP equipment to HELP ANOTHER SETTLEMENT that needs MY help, I might have to make an RPG Maker (I have RPG Maker MV, VX and ACE in my Steam Library but not all the assets that I actually need) game re-genre to enables my SS to do exactly that.
I wish the Minutemen deserters were their own faction, that way the player could get more perspective on why they left in the first place. This would bring some much needed depth to the Minutemen I think
Minutemen deserters cannot be a faction of their own I would guess because it is logical to assume that they did not all team up together in one same faction. For example, one group of raiders in the vanilla game proved to be former Minutemen. Having been cut off from other Minutemen after their general died, they reneged on their former ethos and allegiance because they found out they would starve in the wasteland otherwise. If you run into them, dont feel bad shooting at them because they are beyond redemption. They dont know you because they deserted before you joined Minutemen. Even if Preston made you Minuteman general, they still dont recognize your authority.
I second that. Both in regular and in VR (which requires using the .ESM of FO4 regular + version check patcher ) with the unofficial patch, regular Star Me Up would softlock the Vault 111 door. Redux fixes that, among other things.
That is the very likely reason, similar to how most heavy weapons no longer have a "backpack". Honestly, I wish they would have just found a way around it. Drawing a weapon from its holster (/your back) looks infinitely better than materializing it from nowhere, and a lot of the heavy weapons are honestly a bit ugly being designed to "work" without their "ammo" backpacks.
What's really great about classic holstered weapons is, that you can even edit the position and rotation of your holstered weapons with a neat little ingame tool allowing you to do things like "attach" your rifle to your backpack or wear your pistol on your ankle ect. :)
I played around a bit with the extended raider gang mod, its a cool concept but I dislike it because the new gangs are honestly too bullet spongy and high damage, especially for being added to early game areas
I can understand that but at least for me I like adding a lot if gun mods and some can be really strong so I turned up the difficulty and now that you say these guys are tanky i want this even more to level out things. In conclusion the mod should have a difficulty setting for these new raiders.
One of my favourite features of Place Everywhere is being able to store the position and rotation of the selected object, then copy any of the six attributes or all of them, to another object. When combined with Easy Home Builder, you can quickly replace the destroyed houses in Sanctuary with shiny new ones.
Dude I was messing around with the rotation with that mod to made a floor sliding boxcar door and that feature saved my sanity when I realized I wanted blue instead of orange lol.
I found really helpful to have scrap everything alongside place everywhere. Finally, you can delete points where npc will clip through the floor only to sit at the campfire that buried under concrete floor and move annoying trees
Hey Dak, i've found today a very interesting mod that would be cool to showcase in an upcoming video about underrated mods, the name of the mod is Atomic World, and it basically add a ton of structures to explore. Also i think this mod is very nice to anyone who is looking for new places to explore in the game.
I liked that one, just should mention that it adds to a lot of areas, and if you build up your settlements, these areas may become laggy. It's very noticeable in the "triangle of death" region, which is Sanctuary-Abernathy-Red Rocket. Of course, that also depends on your computer and load order.
My only beef with start me up is that it breaks some of the endings. Even if you take the default story. Found that out at the end of an institute playthrrough, no cutscene and it didn't seem like anyone was reacting as if the quest was done. 556 pack is AWESOME too. I more or less immediately downloaded then when they appeared on Xbox.
Wait please explain further! I have live 6.5 days total playtime in my current character(who is my first story guy in like 4 years because my game would crash every time I’d go near Cambridge or Boston) so I really need to know if my guy is fucked. I’m gonna do a minuteman/BOS playthrough, so is that still ok? Also my friend was having some problem possibly caused by this mod. He kept saying he needed to get some holotape from 111 or something but couldn’t find it, does that ring a bell? I’ve been using start me up for like a year or so and never seen anything about some holotape.
@@The_Lone_Outlaw so the holotape is on "nate's" body in the reactor room between the sparking bits. That part works no problem. As for downtown, yeah that area is a nightmare without a high end heavily modded PC and even then it's still prone to crashing. I usually download chest terminal and just teleport to anything between daimond city and the airport because of it. Although that's nothing to do with the mod, it's just FO4 being FO4. Only issue I had was just the ending slide and some NOC interactions(or maybe it was just the cutscene I don't remember I only used it the once).
2:57 i have a different version of this mod, where you create your character (after the mirror scene to sculpt the face) in the institute as a synth, where you can start a different playthrough and then get teleported to a random spot in the commonwealth with the character you created
I'm a big fan of fallout 4 and I'm glad I found your channel, u make me come back to the game, I have so many hours and stopped playing mid far harbour, I'm back tomorrow, thanks 👍

What texture/weather/lighting are you using. I have the calamity weather and lighting but the look of your game recently just looks much nicer and plush
Raider Gang Extended is so good for what it is but I kinda hated some of their weapon and clothing choices so I loaded up xEdit and tweaked it a little, like how I gave the Hell Raisers 10mm pistols so they don't keep spawning with lame boxing gloves
There's always really cool mods and the weapons are always great I still play a lot of this to this day hopefully I'll be able to play with the mods offline again I definitely do enjoy the assault rifle from Fallout 3 it fits more than what they gave you for Fallout 4 I usually use Dak replacer
@Degenerate Dak Dak, have you had any crashing issues or anything with Raider Gangs Extended? I really want more variety but I'm anxious about adding new enemies into the game since these types of mods always seem the hardest to keep stable. Already got the mutant menagerie mods but want use this and feral ghouls expanded aswell.
Dak have you covered the take and equip mod? It allows you to take and consume any item on the go, which is quite essential and synergies well with the immersive animation framework
Hello, cool video. What platform are you playing on and what graphics mods are you using? The optics are awesome. I'm playing on a Series X with 4K/60 fps ultra settings and some graphic mods. My game looks good too, but not as nice as yours😂. I think you're playing on a high end PC, right?
Start me up redux should be the one that everyone goes with NOT start me up original. The redux version is still being updated and even has a patch for ss2
Start me up is available for xbox at least but it requires you to install i think 3 or 4 seperate mods to work one that does the dialogue another that does the character stuff and i domt quite remember the others
Anyone know if raider gangs extended still spawns rival gangs in the same instance? Because while having rival gangs fight each other sounds neat on paper, constantly going into instances where all the mobs are already dead or dying gets annoying after awhile...
will have to try the alternate start mod, i do get a bit annoyed with how pivotal Preston Garvey is and how you can't or rather the moment you complete something Preston is there in your ear about some other problem and i feel that rushes the gameplay when realistically you couldn't possibly go from one end of the map to the next to save yet more settlements, i mean how the frell have they survived before you turned up.
One question here about Raider Gangs Extended. I've played with it some time, and have no problem myself, but broken my game thanks to workshop tinkering... and now after reinstalling I've read somewhat more about things I am doing. And here and there people putting those mods together are saying that RGE is not exactly safest for your game. I mean, obviously interactions between mods is a whole galaxy of possibilities, but in general, what level of risk it has? Does someone here played with this mod and can say something more?

Got a request for ya Dak. Know you got your own roadmap so idk if you’d be able/willing but as far as I know, there is no gauss minigun mod in this game. Would you be willing to try to make one or alternatively pass the idea on to other modders you know? Lmk if/when you see this and if you can/will or can’t/won’t or if you’re uncertain please.
Idk why but holstered weapons doesnt seem to work on my new save. I havent isolated it yet to see exactly what it is, but it and place everywhere seem to both have issues, and ive never had issues with them.
I don't know if they improved the alternate start mod, but when I ran in last year I was kind of annoyed that your chosen background didn't give you starting perks to go along with it. I mean, I'm supposed to be a doctor but have no medicine-related perks? Wasn't I supposed to have been living in the Wasteland my whole life up to this point? It's basically the same with vanilla where Nate is supposed to be a veteran soldier and Nora is supposed to be a lawyer, but they don't have any skill\ perk difference from the get-go.
love the vids. StarMeUp never seems to work for me, I cant even run a normal 'new game' even after removing? anyone any ideas? Yes, im on PC and have over 200+ mods running also
Try the "redux" version, it works better for me. And although that might undo some modding and alterations you have made, ask Steam to check the integrity of your game. Finally, the ultimate solution might be to reinstall F4. Yes, I know that's a pain in the ass to remake your whole load order, but might be needed.
I don’t know, it could either be a modded version of the 5.56 pistol, given that Dak is pretty good about not using unnamed mods in his videos, or it could be some cobbled together junk revolver, at least to my eyes. Left a like and comment to boost yours and hopefully get an answer!
I'm not completely certain but I'm assuming that the reason why Fallout 4 doesn't have a weapon holstering system is because of the weapon modding system... unless they just didn't want to add weapon holstering for some reason. I mean, the only other reason I could possibly think of would be clipping issues but that seems like a silly thing to scrap holstering over
it was likely left out due to the modding system like you said. For it to be added during development it would've required hundreds, possibly thousands of meshes to be added in order to make sure the holstered weapon looks like your actual weapon. The way CHW does it is some magic that I don't understand but yeah.
Oh thank goodness, more 556 weapons that are level listed, I tried find so many to replace the ugly "AR" and juts have a normal AR but all the ones I found were very and strictly player exclusive, never level listed. Also the group of weapons I would like to see is more scrap themed guns but not like the pipe guns but pipe guns that looks more professionally built, not by a chemhead in a garage. Also for raider gangs, something I always wonder is that the baseball nade is nice but there isn't a whole lot of makeshift explosives which leads me to an idea, raiders that are very/too specialized, as for grenades what if there is a raider that wants ot lob grenades, but you can find grenade and explosive components off them, they are dangerous, but not crazy, they want to stay a distant but if you are a crack shot or a jet head, the raider is a danger to everyone else, another raider, teh chemhead which may have a gun but are terrible at range, but upclose are dangerous, another raider, the crafter who will have a professionally made looking weapon. Heck lets go further, a raider rat packer, they wear obnoxous backpacks, their loadout is unpredictable, they are not the fastest but they will have loot. Just that their back packs will protect their backs.
Dak, I don't know what compelled you to delete my comment but you did anyway, props to you, if you didn't then it mysteriously disappeared by the hand of god, though this post still has some relative topics. I suggested that people should download Start Me Up Redux instead of Start Me Up because the original is a "buggy mess", I was wrong, somewhat. The original is buggy, but not a mess, the redux version fixes most of those issues, even adds XDI support for people who use XDI. You arguing that SMU isn't buggy or that the redux version is just a "redux of a flawless mod" is entirely incorrect. You seem to hold some sort of grudge against SMU Redux though, interesting. Good thing TinyManticore directly tells you to download the Redux version instead of the original on the original mod description. Once again, no clue why you deleted my comment as I didn't attack you or anyone in any way, hopefully you can get over the grudge.

I do hope that Starfeild and the next games have a shorter startup, Fallout 4 opening is not just too long buts boring as well.

umm... Start Me Up IS available on Xbox. in fact it just got an update. it is however titled "Start Me Up REDUX".
The original is also on Xbox too. If anyone can't find it just search alternate start.
Anyone know why his games colors pop so much i really want that effect
ooooooooooh a great video! and great mods, i am very interested.
Hol up i got the alternate Start mod on my Xbox this just has less dialogue cause memory limit on the console
Great vid
An HK G3, I am interested.
Keep it coming
(place everywhere) is not worth it unless u wanna risk have 139 bugs
Still looking for a mod that lets any faction use Arty

Just waiting for the BAR to arrive on Xbox now lol
If you are talking about the Browning Automatic Rifle, I believe there already is a mod for it on Xbox
Dark port the gangs extended please
For some reason place anywhere is gone from Xbox
Use link in description
We really do need a new r91 rifle mod. Hopefully the capital wasteland mod authors will make one.
did you watch the vid? there's a brand new r91 featured right there, literally in the thumbnail
@@DegenerateDak okay thankyou. I didn't have enough time to watch your video.
