To my understanding some local "travelers" attempted the theft of two identical mini diggers from a hire yard near craven arms, in favour of going through the metal gate they decided to "leapfrog" the diggers up the railway towards marshbrook probably believing that there were no more trains for the night? They leapfrogged them as they only had one generic key for the diggers and so had to move one then run back to move the other and so leaving them on the track. I've since hired the excavator that didn't get hit for some work round the house and Ill just say that the digger that was hit is an absolute reck!
3:41 they still exist. They’re inside a building in Landore depot being repaired, seen them the other day. Still got fire damage but slowly are being repaired.
You can only imagine how terrifying it must of been for the driver of that passenger train not seeing the diggers until last second and not being able to stop in time
As somebody who has a close heart for 150242 it made me very sad to hear that 150279 also was involved of the fire as 150279 with be scrapped forever and 150242 has been confirmed repairs they are both currently sat in Swansea depot
Two 142 pacers were hired in from Northern, . Its a far cry from the days when railway companies could rely on ''spare rolling stock'' in their sidings
the residents that use the city line services are always directed to use the local bus services in case the service is caped. the unit the undamaged unit of the train was moved into the sidings at craven arms , however the driver didn' t engage the brakes properly and the undamaged unit went into the buffer stops

Also, after around a minute the audio gets much better anyway, I know the first minute isn't great but after the reconstructed crash it gets much quieter!
The two units were taken back to Landore train depot by road - So it is rather likely they will be repaired to make up for the shortfall in traction - Especially now, when 175008 has suffered a major fire of it's own that might not be repairable. It does look bad from a outsider's perspective, but from my understanding, the 150s should be relatively repairable.
Whether these units have received repairs or not, I'm not sure. The future of these units remains unknown, however if you travel between Llansamlet and Swansea on a train on the South Wales Main Line, both 150279 and 150242 which have remained un-serviced since the incident, can actually be seen at Landore TM Depot.

Hey! Just a little feedback but you voice is sitting a little low in comparison to the music. If you can, albeit this is an old video, just make sure your voice is a little louder than the music as the music can be a bit too prominent. That or apply an EQ to your voice in whichever editor you're using and increase the treble/higher frequencies so that we can hear you better. Good videos though otherwise!
A very good report, but spoilt by the too loud background music - difficult to hear all that you were saying. An alternative solution would have been a higher volume from your microphne, which is rather low. Update: just noticed others have already commented on the levels, and you've acknowledged it. Seems you've used music from the YT library - so, without adjusting this, then the level that needed increasing was that from your microphone.

This was a very serious crash that could have caused death and TFW to close down completely! And nobody even cares about British rail TOCS. So disgraceful and sad.
