Your info is the shit. And you change up on materials as they come out. DAMN. So glad you’re here. And your rambling is awesome. Things I never knew about so many things.
Thanks Kelly, I find your tying videos the best for the reason you add in your thoughts on materials and techniques throughout the tie. All the best for 2020!
Just tied one up in about ten minutes ... Looks great and I love the barely legal it has netted my biggest rainbow in spring creek by my house and hooked my biggest fish on fly rod in same day. Thanks
Oh my gosh! Kelly, I just listen to your talk about mastering streamer fishing. That makes absolutely perfect sense. I enjoy listening to you so much. My bucket list is the meet you. You will never know how much I have learned from you. I hope all is well with you and the crew. And when I see someone trimming A deer hair Caddis I cringe LOL! Stay well and strong 👍
Kelly, for historical purposes I'll mention exactly when you designed and named the smoke wagon. The name of course came from the movie Tombstone "You skin that smoke wagon and we'll see what happens." It was 2007 and I watched you design it late in the fall. We took it to the stretch just below the dam, trailing it or fishing it single and it was dynamite in enticing the large browns and rainbows that lurk in that area in the late fall early winter. Kipp
"It's a single hook fly, super simple". Half hour later we finally have the Smoke Wagon and Kelly covered in wax. I'm just joking I love your videos, do not make them shorter. You and Davey pretty much taught me how to tie. FYI Davie puts the wax on his right index finger not his left.
Great tie Kelly, first time I’ve seen you tie and it looks slightly like you struggled a bit, haha, because of the wax, just like me on all my flys. Only difference is yours tuned out perfect. The wax you used, what is it, mine seems too sticky/tacky.
will whitefish hit a streamer? we dont have them here on the east coast where i am but i caught many of them when fishing in montana and sum big ones too that fight pretty good..
I was fishing a big articulated streamer in November and got a vicious strike and felt a hard fighting fish. Was shocked to find a whitefish had swallowed the second half of the streamer. Unfortunately, I had to kill it bc it somehow swallowed it so deep, even with the tiny mouth. Turns out it was whitefish spawn season so it was aggressively attacking what it thought was another fish. I suspect you could get them more commonly on smaller wooly buggers that might appear as a big stonefly nymph to a whitefish. Have also gotten whitefish on size 8 chubby Chernobyl and small dries.
Use this pattern a lot , works well as a trailer also when you are swinging on the Mo . I hate watching Davie he always where’s that same blue shirt 👕 and all his sets are perfect. How can that be :-)
do you still work on coming up with and inventing new patterns or more or less just maybe making sum patterns better with new materials? just curious cause you have so many great proven patterns...a new pattern has to surface from sumwhere just to use the best name ever..the blumpkin..
Here's Davie's video on wax prep and placement. ruclips.net/video/IN4N92G14Xg/видео.html. Thanks Kelly for a great tie, I always enjoy your videos and find them very informative.

I have been wanting to see this fly tied for a couple years now! Great job with the channel guys!
All the best to you Kelly. Thanks for posting.
Kelly, Davie has the wax on the index finger of his right hand. That keeps it out of the materials. Great tie as usual.

Jim, Glad you liked it and look forward to you stopping by to fill that bucket full of BS by the time we are done. thanks for watching, Kelly

I think Davy puts wax on his finger in the morning along with his deodorant. He's one of the best fly tyers in the world
Very nice job it will help me out a lot I didn't fast forward it 👍
Do you fish articulated flies on the multi fly rig?

He’s super new to tying and fly fishing so that’s probably why #hefishestenkara
@@yeehawsantana9039 The important thing is that Kelly not give up, he’ll figure it out eventually if he knuckles down and applies himself.
Defenitely ohne of the videos I ve learned most. From Kelly AND from comments…
Best way to add some weight for fishing It on a 4 weight in driftless area streams?
Cone head would work great, or some lead wraps down the body
I started trying what McPhail does too...about six months ago. Works good.. If I tie most of the day, I’ll do it. Otherwise a dab will do ya’.
Is that a clock ticking? I'd have to get rid of it. Nice fly.

Depends on the whitefish, we have asp and chubs here in Europe, asp is called the poor man’s tarpon. They hit like a freight train.

Fuck yeah. I was just thinking about tying this.

So it's a single hook barely legal?
it is the original Barely, did this one first and then added a tail. KG

I thought the wax was a wart or nasty growth on your hand, and though I love your stuff was going to suggest amputation...No guff- :)!
Pssst Kelly, it's GSP not GPS. Just lettin' ya know. Keep the good flies coming. Thanks, and yes it does help me out.
Why dont you get your own intro! Your stole Alabama Arsenal graphics
I’m sure a lot of videos have this into. It’s just a standard choice in a popular video editing software
