It's a common belief amongst many psychologists that when a person suffers a great emotional trauma such as being bullied relentlessly, they stop emotionally growing as the person subconsciously protects themselves from facing that pain. They say it often manifests in thinking about others so they don't have to think about themselves. Not implying that is what anony bullied girl in the story is going through, but it's food for thought.
She reminds me of how I used to be I have relatively unknown interest and hobbies, I also was horribly bullied by people. (For a time my family didn't have running water so no showers). And for a while I only really had online friends but then I met my lover that lasted a year then we broke up. After that I had moved schools. It took a while for me to find a group for me but once I did I started to enjoy life. Sorry for the long message but I just really resonated with this character.
