My first ride on an electric skateboard! - Elwing Nimbus test

- My first ride on an electric skateboard! It still feels funky not to have all control when riding electric boards. I had never ridden an electric skateboard because most models are longboard. As a freestyle skateboarder they feel very lump to handle. But.. Elwing has made a cruiser size skateboard that attracted my attention. About time for an Elwing Nimbus test. Check it out!

Got also an Elwing, never had a problem pushing it when the batterie was empty. That's the big plus of a board with a hub motor. Bought it because of the size. It's a great toy!
Must have done something wrong then I guess. There was quite some resistance when pushing the board when not powered on. Only got a few hours to ride it. Didn’t get a chance to fully look into all features. And my skills with eskateboards definitely needs fine tuning.. 😆
Great video!!
Thanks! 🙏 Are you into eskateboarding?
I'm planning on buying an Elwing and I live in Antwerp! What a coincidence lol
You won’t regret it! Have fun mate. 🤙
So to save you 9 minutes of combing through this, get the long range dual motor variant and its nice and compact.
Jep. Only takes longer to charge but that’s worth the wait for additional fun. 🤙🔥
You should try out a diy board with high specs. The feeling of power and speed blasting over 30mph makes the high cost worth it.
Looking forward to trying some different models in the future! I was amazed by the power of this little board. I can imagine that the bigger ones have even more speed. What board are you riding? 🤙
@@VinieVizzleVlog I have a couple insane DIY boards, few are AWD overkill specs. I also just started on a race board using stooge NKP trucks. Fast stuff, I want to get into off road though.
AWD.. must be a killer! Would love to try one of those off road. Looks like you have some good times ahead. Keep shredding! 🔥
If you can swing it, try out a WowGo AT2. All terrain boards are where it's at. Mine is on a boat inbound. Also, a XR.
Killer video talent. Keep it up. I'll sub for the camera/eskate stuff.
Thanks Bob! Just checked a review on the AT2. Seems they really stepped up the game since the AT1. Would love to try one of those!
Hope your XR comes in soon. This thing really has been a life saver for me in these times! Keeps me going while most other favourite sports are off limits.
Keep shreading my friend! 🤙
Loooool that's your girlfriend 😂😂 I'm watching like wtf, she's following this guy she appears in a few shots after his just ridden off but yet she's still with him! Then turns out it's the partner. Stalker alert over. Thought you had some grudge entity on you.
Just pulled the plug on a Bustin YoFace V3 Hybrid. It's not perfect for me, prefer the deck shape of this Elwing in a lot of ways. Need more old-school shapes, smaller wheels and narrower trucks. Like the Loaded X Unlimited hubs, we need more hubs designed like that. Because those hubs go on any trucks, it's an incredible design. I want to use my own trucks. Dream set-up is a Landyachtz dingy/ 115mm trucks with a Bustin style enclosure and 60 - 65mm wheels. Belt or hub though probably hub, maybe a bit of belt. And dare I say it an evolve style remote. Few things I like about evolve are the trigger style remote.
Need more boards like this, build on the tech that's already out. Market is saturated for longboards yet shortboards it's just this Elwing and the YoFace. Every other mini has a tiny kick-tail and/or back mounted motors/ or no nose, no pop. Such a lacking category.
Jep.. she’s part of the team and helps out in making footy sometimes.
I also prefer the smaller decks as I like to play around. The longboards feel a bit awkward as I’m used to riding a freestyle skateboard. Also missing the kicktail in a lot of other models. Elwing definitely has managed to get that skateboard feel in their boards.
So what's the final verdict after all this rime, review video?
If buying one definitely get the dual motor long range model. I only got 7km from this single motor Elwing. Really love the size of the Nimbus. Most eboards are longboards which I don’t like that much.
Hi,
Do you prefer Nimbus or Wowgo mini 2 ?
Hi Kiwi. Haven’t had the chance to ride a wowgo mini 2 but I like the idea of having the motors in the wheels. That opens more options for tricks as the motor is not in harms way as with the nimbus.
I find it difficult going ftom onewheel to eSk8. Leaning in to speed rather than keeping shoulders back catches me out lol
Was a little sketchy at first but I’ve been riding skateboards for 20 years. Got the hang of it pretty fast, but definitely feel the difference with floating. 🤙
@@VinieVizzleVlog I'd quite like a trampa urban longboard. But I'm thinking efoil next lol and I'm a poor gardener
Just had to google that one! 😀 Didn’t even know an efoil existed.. damn that looks like fun! Too many options man.. the struggle is real 🙂🙃🙂
@@VinieVizzleVlog onewheel is king so I'm happy waiting haha
I don't know what to buy. I already skate, I don't know if it's better a Onewheel or this Nimbus.. what do you suggest?
Depends on what you will use the board for. As a skater you will definitely enjoy the Nimbus as it feels like a cruzer. If buying one do check for the dual motor long range model to get the same range as a OneWheel Pint. The pint feels more like snowboarding. They both are super fun for commuting and doing tricks in the city. If you want the option to go off road you’ll have to go for the OneWheel XR. Superb for trails and double the range of the Pint & Nimbus. Hope this helps you. If you would have any other questions.. shoot! 🤙
I have the onewheel Elwing! Suddenly it stopped switching on! I charged it many times but still dead! Any suggestions?!
Hi Khalid. If you tried to charge it many times and it doesn’t work, I think you might have a bad connection at the charging point. Do you still have warranty on the machine?
hi whate autonomy
The board I used had a single motor and I got about 6-7km with one charge. Did run all sorts of tests while riding. Cruising might give you a slightly better range. Dual motor and long range model doubles the fun!
