What makes this post great is "Keeping it Real" while showing just how this process works in real life. Bolt torqued too tight and showing just what it really takes to this job. Great Post.
Great job explaining why you're doing what you're doing, and showing how to do it with at-home tools. I've seen videos with professional jacks, or working in a shop, or tire ramps. Best Smart oil change video I've found
Went to Autozone to get oil and an oil filter. The STP oil filter model S6607 was listed in the reference book for my 2008 Smart Fortwo Passion. They had two styles with the exact same model number but one box was 1/4 inch taller! I asked the folks which one I should use and why one was taller. They had No Clue so we opened up both to compare them. The only difference was that one filter was 1/4 inch taller. The taller filter was the one I choose because it better matched the picture on the computer when they pulled up the specs for my car. That was however very odd I thought.
@@fupabox What's really funny was the filter I took off the car was super tiny even compared to the shorter filter the store had. I'm guessing it was at least a half an inch shorter. I guess with the taller filters the more surface area for filtering couldn't hurt. On my car I think the muffler sits lower than the filter so if I bottom out, it's going first. Just don't go mudding with the car, you'll be fine. If you do use a lift kit, put on some huge tires and take video cus I'd like to see that LOL.

Saved me a trip to the garage, and a small fortune, many thanks buddy appreciate this take care of yourself out there.
Thank you for your video 🇺🇲🍀 Where do you buy and how often should oil change and filter change be done?
bolt/filter are in disproportionate tightness to size of car...dealer tight means very tight - good job
It was the Exxon Valdez for me! 🤣🤣🤣
Great job though! 👍🏻
Do you know where is the fuel filter in smart 451?
Thanks for your video!!
Is it the tightening torque or someone’s weakness..? 😂
Thx a lot for this video! 🫶🏼

yeah ..I'm not too sure on the taller one ..Just having it sit so low gives me the creeps

451 stands for 451 cc ??? I don’t know anything about that car! Thanks 🙏
451 is just a chassis code . It's a whopping 999cc
This is 451 what? What year? Gasoline? Diesel?
451 2015 Gasoline
And if that’s the case then it’s kinda like a 45 bhp motorcycle ?? Lol 😂 which is all u need for that tiny car ?? Thanks 🙏. Lol 😂
lol...it's a massive 70 hp ..
Pf693 from ac delco is a shorter filter
Thanks 🙏
The oil change interval is 15.000 km
It's not a drain plug, it is not to be opened these Mercedes engines are only supposed to be drained via an oil sucker... JEEZ sidewlak mechanic
righty tighty lefty loosy thats all im saying
backspinning before tightening ensures the threads are lined up. It's an old trick ..try it ..it works well and prevents crossthreading
Works the same for a 424 of 2007? 🥹
