Marc died far too young, but while he was with us he certainly influenced us 70’s teenagers of the revolution !!!

Its very strange when he sings summer is heaven in 77!! and straight after it sounds like tyres skidding on a road......weird

It's also interesting, that this song I thought I had remembered, along with you scare me to death, sound both very similar to celebrate summer. Does anyone know if there is any truth, in the rumour, which I am sure I heard on the radio, a few decades ago, that his brother was once a Gosport bus driver?

I believe, from memory, that this is true. As a child growing up, I lived in an adjacent street in Hackney to where he lived but didn't know this until I was in my teens, given that he was ten years older than I was.

What happened to his excellent band? How did they feel about being left off his show?

    • @CP-ij8hh

Bolan's ego was out of control by 1974, his original band had either been sacked or just walked away from him, and that includes his wife June Child and record producer Tony Visconti.

Here lies the death of glamor. Let it die. I have bigger plans for this. A new age is dawning an I haven't forgotten it. The future has big comfy chairs. We are trying to make you feel at ease. I know you have a story to tell an me ears are pricks?

I love Marc Bolan but... this seems just a tacky (yes i know it was the 70s!) would be comeback.
Theres a few new tunes but mostly it seems old T-rex hits redone rather badly..

This show gave us the last bit of Marc we’d ever see. And for that I’m thankful.

Yes, it’s a far cry from T-Rex, but, as someone else said, I’m grateful that we have these shows. He had to camp it up for the kids. 💕💕
