Good evening sir I’m a vet from the southern India we are having a lot of cases of Ceassarian in cattle Wat is the best technique to prevent peritonitis bcoz sometimes wen we are taking out dead emphysematous calves the fluid is falling into the peritoneum and the animal is developing peritonitis in 3 days can we use any suction pump to drain out bad fluid before closing the surgical site or can we use alexis wound retractor like in humans please tell me sir coz I tried everywhere but no one is competent in large animal surgery so I wanted to ask u
It is mostly due to what you are saying and even you know how to manage; that is great idea. if you feel that contents fall in peritoneal cavity then suck the fluid via suction pump or any other means and wash the peritoneal cavity with plenty of distilled water (may be up to 15-20 liters) then again suck the all fluid. Put the metrogyl up to 500 ml in peritoneal cavity before closure of laparotomy incision with Polyglactin 910 no. 1 or 2 suture material. Try to repair muscle in simple interrupted pattern. during whole procedure, asepsis is most important. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@drrbkushwaha sir for muscle and peritoneum we are using continuous lock sticth pattern sir and how can we do it aseptically ?before opening uterus can we pull it out and put some mops around it or any sterile material which prevents contents falling into peritoneal cavity ?
@@vaschinnapuram1432 yes if possible you can pull out from abd cavity but in dead foetus or emphysema it ll difficult to pull out so you can make a very small incision and put tube of suction into uterus and suck content as much as possible. This way we could minimise the contamination. Thank you
