Allowing the people to own the means of production, get dividends off corporate profits and have a democratic voting right in company policy through share ownership was a marvellous idea. Pity the majority of the cattle didn't understand, and sold their shares back to the very people they claim to hate for a minor profit in an artificially boosted market within a few short years.
That is a good idea. I am German, and the German Television used to play the national anthem on television at the end of the day since 1985, but stopped it to play a couple of years ago. God save the Queen and Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit (Unity and Justice and Freedom)
I saw some videos of the Bayern state TV closing down with the state anthem of Bayern and the German one. In Spain it was done till 2001 in the national TV. Pity that we never did it in Catalonia with our public tv. Basque Country and Galicia both did it.
" Well it's coming up to 9.25, and the end of other days broadcasting on BBC, we will welcome you back at 2.30 tommorow with a repeat of Songs of paise, good night" ...national anthem plays... Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
Too right, you had gentlemen announcers and news readers, unlike now. My family always stood when this was playing and Tyne Tees always ended the day's programmes with the national anthem
Actually, Mark, it is the sombre and sad version. I heard this slower version in a clip here on RUclips from when BBC1 signed off it's schedule in 1997 on the night Princess Diana died. =S
Diana, Princess of Wales, sings the slow national anthem of God Save The Queen for the death of Wallis Simpson on 24th April 1986. The lyrics that she sung to Wallis Simpson are "God save our gracious queen. Long live our noble queen. God Save The Queen. Send her victorious, happy and glorious, long to reign over us. God Save The Queen." 6 years after the death of Wallis Simpson, Princess Diana died. The slow God Save The Queen played when Princess Diana died.
My family always stood for this.
Those were the days who else didn't go to bed till it finished ha ha
The British Broadcasting Corporation should always play this.
Or possibly it was the start of the three day week and the slower version was played to save electricity.
VTM one question. Is there a version of Belize ?
@@whdstudios1054 Of course, old chap.
they do on radio 4 close down changing to world service
My family always stood for this. Working class Tories through and through- god bless Maggie who let us buy our council houses.
Glenn Cumbria What about the privatization of almost everything.

Glad the video is back!
Let's all stand for the National Anthem. (Before bed.)
Let's not.
@@MrThecarebear Well tbh I never did lol
Fkn ell I wrote this 14 years ago???
The BBC always had a sense of class in those days.
Can't anymore for fear of triggering the Muslim immigrants who have overrun the country.
@@luisreyes1963 Give it a rest.
just looked out of my window and the queen mother has been driven past
I reckon some well spoken chap, as was the BBC then, would have announced the end of the day's programmes. Some ITV companies did the same.
" Well it's coming up to 9.25, and the end of other days broadcasting on BBC, we will welcome you back at 2.30 tommorow with a repeat of Songs of paise, good night"
...national anthem plays...
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
...when does Eric Idle or Michael Palin make a silly remark?
...I miss those bits...
I wish this was our anthem.
Which country are you from?
@taaqen apparently this logo was used from 1969 until 1974. Up until the mid-80's the same design was used but a different colour.
Beautiful.
Too right, you had gentlemen announcers and news readers, unlike now. My family always stood when this was playing and Tyne Tees always ended the day's programmes with the national anthem
Best played at 1.25 speed
The rotating globe on a mercantor style projection didn't start until the late 70's. In 1973 it was just the globe on its own if I remember correctly.
ALL STAND !
This was shortly before the slightly faster national anthem was introduced in the BBC1 closedowns.
Sounds as if the orchestra had had a few!
So did your English teacher.
Cheerio & Good Night, viewers!
God save are queen
Luke Twyford 'our'
It's actually God Save The Queen.
Better than the later globe with more class

Yes.
This version of the National Anthem is a right dirge... thankfully the BBC introduced a rendition with a bit more gusto soon after this.
Can anybody find the Clock, and Globe, at the beginning, of closedown.
Too right,
Too right, Britain first.
Behave.
It's bloody freezing in Pres tonight and the miners have gone on strike.
This would be the good old mechanical globe, not an animation.
I had to stand when this was playing
BRITISH broadcasting company, people were more patriotic then.
God Save The Queen!
God Save The Queen is a British national anthem. It is played at weddings and funerals.
@@debbieparkes3588 After the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022, changes the anthem as "God Save the King" since 2022

RUclips thinks the music is from a Monty Python album.. classic...
Used When Unikitty Network Closed Down From 1947-1967.
This Was Played When Diana Princess OF Wales Has Died
Yes.
I like this one much better, than the newer faster one, I find the newer faster one, a bit cringe-worthy.
Should one be standing up to view this? Discuss...
