Audemars Piguet Code

The Code 11:59 has certainly not been the most popular platform in Audemars Piguet's history when it was launched in 2019 but with the introduction of the star wheel complication the platform might finally have found a winning combination.
AP is known more for the Royal Oak line that has dominated its lineup since the 1970's to the point that many call them a one watch brand. In Mark's review he sees that the Code platform might actually work as a way to bring interesting complications to market rather than using it for time only watches.

Mark I'm glad the algorithm recommended this video. You earned my respect when you put me onto breguet specifically the classique 7147 in the 3 watch collection video you did on the crown and caliber. First person I saw recommend a specific watch, most ppl just talk about the brand. Cheers!

Hot take. I’ve only seen a few royal oaks that I like… and those tended to be more of the smaller variety. The rest of the time is me saying silently in my head “I can’t believe someone paid this much for that thing.” This is the first time that I really heard someone get to the bottom of the code 1159 design issues. The honesty is appreciated for me. It’s a boring platform that looks cheap from the dial side,… but finally, the star wheel is really is nice and worthy of the AP name.
