Gosh, that takes me back 23 years, when I was rolling with my baby daughter everywhere in Seattle. Either in the stroller or in the baby-backpack. The Zoo, the park, the museum and on and on. Great memories. Glad that you get to make yours. Precious times. 😉 (Now she works for an architecture firm in London. Time flies!) Great product review! As always, top quality editing. Liked 28. Till next time, Marcus
hahah yess I feel like mine is getting so big. She's 10months now, feel like it was just the other day she couldn't do anything at all and stayed where I put here down lol.
Extremely likeable trio. Almost a story, like here a successful lens comparison with wonderful results in duet with everyday situations and Nordic serenity. Keep it up!
Hope you guys like this one! These vlogs take a whole lof ot time to create so if you could smash that like button for me (and even share it :)) then that would really be appreciated. Also make sure to give Timon a follow on Instagram!
Really cool comparison - after searching a lot of videos of the Sigma 30 1.4 - this one shows some cool shots and the character of this lens that really wants you to buy one ✨ good job mate 📸
always fun to watch!. just bought the sony a6600 and 2 lens from sigma, the 16mm and this 30mm. trying to get back to photography after a loong time. Cheers from Portugal. great job
I had the Sony 35mm for awhile, but wasn’t too impressed with it. Have yet to try the Sigma, but that Tamron 17-70 covers everything I need these days.
I have the 35mm oss too and it is indeed not as sharp compared to other lenses in the price range. But definitely a compact setup. Maybe a great video lens though!
That's what I'm going to try out. Tamron 17-70 for allround and Sigma 56 1.4 for portraits and other stuff where you want that 1.4 separation. I had the impression in this video that 95% of the shots at 30/35mm are done with f2 and higher anyway, so Tamron 17-70 covers it for most of the cases.
Great video Brother.. I am new relatively new to the world of photography. 1 month old to be precise and for my use which is mostly travel photography and general day to day use which lens would you recommend out of the 2. I own a A6600 with 18-135 kit lens FYI.I would not be using the camera for any professional work .Its mostly to satisfy my hobby as a photographer. Taking some photos here and there while traveling, Photos of family friends and few get together and that's all. Would appreciate your response.
It's meant to be. I was searching this today and you posted. Thanks man. Love my sigma lenses. 16mm and 56mm. The 30mm will be right at home. Great Video and amazing editing.
Great video, with great comparison. I have the Sony A6400 and only have the kit lens, I’m still very much beginner but am looking at buying my next lens especially for an upcoming holiday where I want to try seascape and landscape ,with abut of street thrown in. What would you recommend for this ? Any of these?
Sigma 30mm f1.4 is the best lens I never used. Had it for 3 years. It didn’t focus well on my a6000 in low light (some 3rd party lenses don’t use phase detect on the a6000!?) and it was heavy in a non-ergonomic way. People don’t value ergonomics until they really start using good stuff. I vote 35mm f1.8. Extreme sharpness is for people who take pictures of brick walls.(this is not a dig at anyone in particular 😅)
Man I know what it's like to try to vlog, take photos and push a trolley! 😁 I got a6000 2 months ago and I'm liking the Sigma but I first want to learn everything with the kit lens. Great video, and hello from Mexico!
Hey awesome video! New subscriber! Love the Content! Question, I have a FE 4/24-70 lens already what lens would you recommend more suitable for music videos? the 16mm 1.4 or 30mm Sigma 1.4
Love it, I have both, handed the 35 to my gf when she got an A6400 and it never leaves her camera, so picked up the Sigma for my A6500 since I have the inbody stabilization. I found the autofocus on the 35 destroys the Sigma in lower light and higher apertures ( Ive updated the firmware & tried on both cameras)
@@theglannman7747 yea, as a walkaround its great, oss and much more pocketable, its a little tighter frame, but it totally depends what and how you like to shoot if this will be an issue.
Upgraded firmware on what? The 35mm or camera?? I just got a second hand 35mm and went on sony website and there are no updates for 35mm apsc lens so wanted to confirm this with you.
Hw meant firmware for sigma he updated. I'm also going to buy sony 35mm for my a6700. As I don't pixel peep and sony lens is perfect for talking quick pics while traveling with family.
excellent video guys. both lenses are great for street photography. although Sony with its stabilizer is great and sigma with its sharpness is incredible and a half step more. hard decision. Greetings 👍🏼🙂
I loved the 35mm F1.8 oss but I couldn't use it anymore because of the terrible chromatic aberration (green/red) and because of the onion rings in the bokeh...but it was working pretty good for B&W photography! Great video as always Arnúlfur!
Thanks for pointing it out. From what I've seen in the video, I would have gone for the 35mm f1.8 because it's significantly smaller and 95% of the shots were done at f2 and higher anyway so 1.4 vs 1.8 wouldn't have made that much of a practical difference.
Sorry but that's far from the truth. Have a look at standardised comparison tests and you will see Sigma is so much sharper than Sony, especially at lower apertures. Sony is optically inferior in every way (except for OSS which you don't really need)
@@Zunidrap Hi Zuni... The Sigma that I had did not have the sharpness of my Sony 35mm 1.8 so I sold it and kept the Sony... I am wondering if the Sigma lens I had maybe had some issues? Also in looking at these pictures they posted here to me it looks like that Sony has the edge, however based on your comment I will check further into this. What are your thoughts on this Icelandic Guy? Thank you for your comment.
So I've never owned the Sigma 30mm, just tested it here. However I've owned the sony 35 for years and I've really liked it. In my experience the sigma lenses I own tend to be super sharp, and that's not an over exaggeration. However when editing these photos I honestly didn't see a big difference in sharpness. Not that my eye noticed at least right away.
@@ChristopherFreedom Fair enough. Yes, quality control can be an issue both ways. It's hard to see in this video due to RUclips compression and only a couple of shots were actually equivalent. For reference DXOmark sharpness score of this Sony is 11 and Sigma is 16. You can also check the videos by Christopher Frost on each of these lenses and put them side by side. In the real world the difference may be hard to notice but the Sigma should be better, at least it's 1.4 not 1.8.
0:34 wowowowo that bicycle rider almost hit you, sir!! ok back to lens...... now i'm more confuse which one should i bought 16, 30, or 50mm lol but at least your video very helped just me cant decide yet
The Sony kit lenses are made in China trash. My 35mm broke after a few times use will never buy one again! My Sigma lenses are the best never a problem

Both seem like great lenses but that wider focal length and faster aperture on the 30mm is serious business.

Can you also compare this both lens es with the Sony FE 35 1.8?
If I can get my hands on the FE sure I can!
In my opinion the sony looks very cheap because of the diameter of the glass.
Hard to beat the Sony! Both great lenses but the Sony is Sharper.
