Launch of Cas Oorthuys contact prints digization project

- The Nederlands Fotomuseum is about to digitize all 442 albums of contact prints compiled by Cas Oorthuys, one of the most influential of all Dutch photographers. In recent years, there has been a growing awareness of the historic nature of these fragile albums and the need to conserve them properly as part of the photographic heritage of the Netherlands. For this reason, the museum wishes to stop using them as a working tool in the management of the Oorthuys archive and instead to preserve them as a unique historic artefact. In order to maintain access to the Oorthuys archive, the museum has decided to digitize the entire set of albums. This will be one of the biggest digitization projects in the history of Dutch photography.

@@NederlandsFotomuseum ja jullie mogen de foto’s hebben , hij was veel bij ons in Amsterdam .echte partij genoten . . Mijn vader heeft 3 jaar in Buchenwald gezeten en werkte. Bij Pegasus . Ik ga zoeken in de boeken kast en meteen vragen aan de kinderen van mijn broer of ze een copy willen .
Oorthuys is afgebeeld met een Hasselblad; ook een 6x6 camera. Dit formaat is bijzonder geschikt om een compositie te bepalen. Werkt sneller dan een Rolleiflex.
Een paar menselijke ogen componeert een afbeelding met diepte, niet liggend noch staand.
Een rolleiflex is juist voor straatfotografie weer stuk wendbaarder en makkelijker .
Leuk mijn vader werkte bij Pegasis CAS ging naar het ziekenhuis en daar woonde wij . Dan schreeuwde hij of er koffie was .hij heeft veel veel foto’s van mij gemaakt . . Laat maar weten of jullie de foto’ willen hebben .
