I've owned all 3 and I say overall the 525's are my favorite. I just picked up a Echo 266 and to my surprise I like everything about it over the 2620. It's has about the same power, much better balanced, and doesn't vibrate the hell out of you like the 2620!
I had just ordered a shidaiwa 262 which to th best of my knowledge is a echo 2620...but with a solid shaft instead of braid...i hope i made th right choice..i mainly plan to brush cut...and i didn't realize there's a T(torque) model...you think it'll be ok?? Or should have went with a T model for brush cutting?? Thanks for any info
Do you have a recommendation on the best commercial grade handheld blower from Husqvarna / Echo / ? Thanks much... Paul PS. I used to live in Jonesborough. I actually meet my wife there! Now we live in Hendersonville NC.
@HOutdoors Henrik because people (like me) treat stihl the roughest because we know they're tough. they mey not be as refined as a husqy but as long as they get good clean fuel my stihls never fail.
Find ya a rock or a piece of concrete or something hard and run it down on that. Make sure your running the line away from you and in a safe direction in case a piece snaps off. Keep a steady and consistent distance off of said rock so u get the same length on both ends and run her down till she feels good and balanced. You wont regret taking that guard off if your contracting. Just make sure to keep it with you at all times in case something happens you can slap her back on there so your insurance will cover damages 😉
I like the deeper rumble of my Stihl 131. I think a string trimmer is pretty loud and annoying to most people regardless if its a 2 or a 4 stroke. Its a loud small engine that barely has a muffler and fairly high pitch either way. Its fun for us guys pulling the throttle though. I liked your video and its really cool how much passion you have for you work tools. I really love my gear too.
I’ve got a Stihl KM94r and just sold a 2620T to buy the 525lst. I’ve got very little time on the Husky so far, but it’s my favorite. Feels much more refined than the other 2. Seems to have comparable power to the 2620T, maybe better usable power. I think it’s supposed to have a 2:1 head like the Echo, but it seems to spin the line up a little quicker. So far, so good. No regrets
Only reason I won’t ever go for a husky is because I heard they have issues with their gear heads when you take off the guards which causes them to come loose.
I know this is a week later but I’m going to also get a 2620 this weekend and I don’t know if I want to try the regular or t version. I know the gear reduction differences and most the yards I’m doing are taken care of so I’m not cutting really thick grass all the time. I’m just wondering if I should get the t version just to run my line further out. Anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks for the honest review. I'm not tribal and been interested to see an objective comparison. I've had two of those Stihls over the past seven years as part of my Combi system. Great little machine. Only criticism is the lack of a pin to lock the attachment in place- it relies only on the clamp and so you have to tighten it up to prevent it rotating or sliding out which eventually results in the clamp bolt thread stripping. Love the weight, engine is economical and adequately powerful for all of the attachments I have, and proven to be totally reliable. Held the Echo in the shop, seemed heavy and didn't like all its entrails being a bit exposed and visible, their industrial design could do with some improvement in comparison. Also thought the Husqvarna felt heavier but may have been mistaken. Thanks again, appreciated the vid.
Echo 3020t is my personal favorite but I can get the job done with anything that has balls no problem. I like the 2620t and the Stihl 111rx also. Never run a Husqvarna trimmer but I know there chainsaws are 👍
I have never cared what others think anyway...you have to use what makes you or your employees happy. I personally prefer Echo over Stihl in all of their products. I can't say about Husqvarna the only equipment I have used from them was a chainsaw... Which that was excellent. I just prefer the ergonomics and ease of maintenance and fast starting of all my Echo stuff. I love your insight on equipment or 2cycle oil. Keep making your videos your way and thanks I would like to see a price comparison between the 3
Its the only on that has a solid shift so yes.also I use it on thick stuff constantly. Very happy and strong.i pull out the 535 on huge bad stuff.but will do that soon
So , is the head on the husky at more of a angle than the 94 r ? Is the husky angle better for taller peeps ? That's one thing that bugs me about my 94 r.
It feels better to me a 5 ft 10.i am not tall. However I will have that vid up soon.im going to remake it and actually show it as I have never seen anyone do that.heck people dont even talk about it.cuz they stick with one brand I'd say
Great video. It would be interesting to get the redmax bcz260ts in this too cause it’s in the same price range and category as all of those. Cause I personally have one and love it but am still open to other brands. (Love your videos btw💜)
Hello, you said in the video that Husqvarna fixed the grip. Can you be more specific on what exactly they did? Does it not rotate as much as it used to? You really got on to them quite badly in the past. I'm considering the 2620T and the 525LST. Thank you.
the handle moves by design,it is isolated to reduce vibration.I have grown to love it.My handle was messed up from the factory.Husqvarna replaced it! my favorite trimmer is the 525lst.I like most of my trimmer collection though.525lst is special though
Thank you for the reply! Do the rubber bushings for the anti vibration wear out after a few years? Rubber does tend to harden over time. I saw your video replacing the grip but I assume that you were replacing it because it was broken, rather than worn out.
Also, would you recommend an LST or LS if I go with the 525. I'm not using it commercially but we have a section in our yard that grows about shin to knee height weeds in the spring. I need to cut those down from time to time but after that, for the rest of the year, I'll be using the trimmer to edge and to cut where the mower can't reach. Thanks again!
@@francisfaustino lst all day. The rubber was not installed correctly at the factory was the exact problem.I have a video when husqvarna met up with me.i have had mine for several years and zero problems.just the mess up at the factory. My 535ls and 535lk have the same handle.they perfect
Thank you for answering all my newbie questions! So for my uses, would you still recommend the LST? I've read some people's comments that with just short grass trimming, the LST's head is too slow. But then I also read people say that the LS bogs down when used on heavier weeds. Again, no commercial use for me and most of my uses will be edging and regular trimming. I just don't want the unit to start bogging whenever I have to use to on heavier stuff from time to time. Nothing crazy but a huge part of our fenced in backyard is just mulched. That's the part that I'm trying to prevent overgrown weeds.
@@3r8mo Echos tend to fell heavier, tendnto have throttle cables exposed so easier to damage and a more cluttered appearance. They run very well and perform well also but the main thing with Echo is the housing burns your arm when your elbow touches it. I simply think Husqvarna is the best of the three.
@@exterminator1 Haha, it's your then brother. Look forward to you using it in the future. I'm on an airgun forum and my parting line is usually "Peace and Pellet Grease"
In my opinion Echo is much better than the Husqvarna...I've had both. I have a Husqvarna Rancher 455 20" chainsaw and I have used it for like 8 years and runs awesome! The Stihl commercial unit is quite good but I think for the money the Echo is the better unit. Sounds like the only problem you have with the Echo unit is it is heavier. I believe heavier is typically stronger. My Echo is super smooth...never get any vibration. Maybe your head is out of balance...lol! Like you said...all of this boils down to personal preference.
i have went thru maybe 6 to 10 heads.has no change.compared to the others it does in fact vibrate more.it is heavier but it doesnt use its weight wisely.it has a braded cable and oversized plastic.wished it would have a solid shaft like the husky.or even a steel flex like stihl.dont get me wrong i enjoy my 2620t.i use it every week with my others.but i cant lie so i say it like it is.i have also attacked husqvarna(see other vids) and stihl lol.so i say it as straight forward as i can.i like all the top brands.Yes personal preference my friend :)
@@exterminator1 You should try the Shindaiwa T262. It is the same as the Echo 2620 only painted in Shindaiwa red. It has Shindaiwa's tube, handle, throttle etc. The unit is really balanced and feels light. There's also not too much vibration. I have owned FS94 and 525LST over the past 4 years. The Shindaiwa T262 beats the other two. It has more power, better balance, and more efficiency than the other two.
Vibration is worst part of a weed eater, even if you wear a strap and use handle bars. Make sure you get a weed eater that won’t vibrate your back to death, also get a good padded strap and rubber coated handle bars.
Great video love your humor. I found an Echo and Husqvarna both priced $199 and pretty similar... I have a thick overgrown bush.lol which would do best? I would appreciate your opinion
Totally agree! 4 mix just gay! Maintenance is really high. 4 stroke may have very good low end torque but they spins slower than 2 stroke counterparts which it not idea for extensive use but only use it for brush cutter, pole saw and straight stick edger for first clean up that it.
Great Reviews Sir... Honesty is a Great Virtue. They're all really good trimmers, but I think the Husqvarna is a bit better. Everyone should buy all 3 and put the kids to work... Lol.
I found a Stihl FS-45 in the trash 12 years ago. It was my first quality machine and I feel in love. Then I went to get parts and was frustrated I could only get parts when the dealer was open on business days and they were all proprietary. So I got the Husqvarna 125BT (Kawasaki in orange color) then got a 128LD the following year. I switched to Kawasaki handheld stuff before they went out of business, grabbing a hedge trimmer. Purchased the 455 Rancher around this time as well. Next got a PB500T from Echo as I wanted to try them out and needed more power, had carb issues after a year and rebuilt the carb and hadn't had issues since. I got a brush cutter for the 128LD and cut a 30 acre brush field filled with samplings and absolutely destroyed the quick attach coupler. The job paid for the trimmer so I next got the 224L with the Honda and found it to be the be a good medium of exactly what I wanted from a trimmer. And have been focusing on Husqvarnas and Honda 4 strokes since. I have some random machines too, a Stihl MS 015 and 180, a Redmax trimmer I can't get parts for, a PE-225. No major complaints out of the major brands. Waiting for you to buy an Efco and do a review, so I don't have to and I wan't to see how an Italian machine is!
@avengingknight No they are not, they are Italian based. Read their information herewww.efcopower.com/success-built-solid-italian-roots I think your thinking of Dolmar
Im a stihl guy. Ive used all big brand trimmers. Echo seems to not last very long...carb issues etc in my experience. Stihl seems to last forever. Ive never used the hoosquavarna long enough to see its longevity.
Shawn Edwards I’ve not been happy with my stihl after the first year of service its went down hill standing right beside my husqvarna 326L same fuel same oil even same string. The husqvarna ate the air filter In the intake the primer bulb is rotted off and it still runs (with no filter) or bulb. Now is that a testament or what? I just broke it down to do a rebuild and maintenance so since it’s out of service I picked up the 2620 echo and I hope I like it I haven’t used it just held it and I must say it feels promising. Another thing I’d like to say is that stihl is by far the most difficult to service echo being the easiest provided that Home Depot sells the youcan kits online and in store so you don’t have to source all of these things out yourself just by the kit and be done. With all that being said I hate stihl with the inteli carb or whatever the junk is that prevents you from tuning it and I love husqvarna, and hope to like echo. Excuse the run on sentences and punctuation errors 😂
I do not know much about nothing But I do know this ! There can be good money to be made crawfishing in the Atchafalaya spillway :) I have a good friend who crawfishes ! These people cut logs that are in the water So as to have a place to put their crawfish traps ! Actually submerge the bar in the water and cut the logs Only thing out of the water is the power head ! He has used his favorite brands Which are Stihl and Husqvarna He swears a Stilh can not handle the abuse like a Husqvarna ! He says Husqvarna is by far the best for cutting underwater :):):) What this means I do not really know ? But still
All 3 stink. troy-built is the best and has new century drill start .that's why all the professionals use it on other planets after terraforming. best review TU
I will not buy anything from Husqvarna again that’s just my opinion I have had bad luck with them so I will stick with sthil. The only problem with echo is is that there are only one dealer in my area that can service the unit so stihl will have to be my go to.
If you look up the reviews "popular mechanics" reviewed the echo slightly better than husqvarna, I just went out shopping for a trimmer and after looking at all 3 of these makes I went with the ECHO for the most part is because I trust the "popular mechanics" review and the ECHO came with a 5 year warranty where the others offers just 2 years or less unless I paid extra for the warranty itself.
That company requires companies to pay them for the honors.I give honest free opinions of actually using all the brands commercially in the field. They are journalists not lawn pros.just sayn.but all 3 are great.
@@exterminator1I don't have nothing bad to say about stihl or husqvarna, I've used them both and I have never used Echo, it's hard to beat that 5 year warranty and the True Value store in my town has a shop and handles any repairs needed.
@@kylerandell8852 where I do commercial I don't get those 5 year warranties. But a homeowner will never use these machines enough to wear out in 10 years. So make sure to use pure gas or at least NEVER leave ethanol based fuel over winter.ethanol eats the seals and gaskets in the carb up.also draws moisture. So run it dry before storing and you will be fine.I have several echo trimmers ,blower and even a chainsaw.never a problem with any of them.
You bring up really good points about the build quality of the Husqvarna. Their commercial stuff is great. I just feel like their low end stuff needs to be better quality a relegated to the Poulan name.
The 128ld is on their low end.I have used it for many years and its still great.I was very critical of it in an old video.has surprised me.BUT I dont have everything they make on the low end.Only speak to what I have owned or used :)
Mannn I’m so back an forth. I’ve leaning toward the 525LST. I have a great full line husky dealer. But MY dealer, I run Scag, and my dealer carries echo an stihl, that’s my dilemma. I run the speed feed heads. I’ve had 94r in past like them a lot. Currently in a 91r an the 4mix gotta go. They were out of 94r that day an my old one had locked up hence why I ended up in the 91. Maybe I should get the 94r or 2620T an stay at one dealer but dang the 525 LST is really nice
My scag dealer offers only stihl. So I drive the opposite way from them a county over just to the husqvarna dealer lol.they all 3 good I just prefer husky.so dang light weight , balanced and powerful.thanks for watching!
eXterminator that’s kind of what I’m thinking as well. I’ve had the 94r in the past. It’s a good trimmer but does feel kinda of weak and underpowered sometimes. I got three years out of mine before it locked up. I run the speed feed heads anyway so I’m thinking if I buy from my scag dealer I’ll go echo. But my Husqvarna dealer is only 15 minutes away from the house...I run the 570 husky blower already and may stick with their blowers if they release a 590 (9500 redmax next year) thanks man. You’ve helped me at least eliminate the 94r. Biggest thing I don’t like about the 2620T is the “ears” the black plastic shrouds that stick out what you were saying you hit your elbow on. Other than that I really like the 2620T. I like everything about the 525LST.
I have a 20 year old fs120, the plastic on it looks no more worn than that one, don't underestimate that plastic. What I don't like about it how-ever, is the way the filler cap sticks out and the tank flexes around. Putting it in my ute I'm always worried about breaking something eventually because the side of it is jammed up against the wheel arch in the back. I like the husqy design, flush all round.
I'd take among these three, or a Redmax BCZ260TS which is not in the choices here. Both have great power, light weight, and proven Walbro carbs. I hate Echo's weight and ergonomics, and as of late questionable reliability. (All my X-series stuff has given problems.) And after owning both SRM260, and SRM260S models, the difference is clear. A solid shaft is lighter, and does make a noticeable difference in power. Echo was stupid to go with a cable on a flagship commercial trimmer. Pair that with a cheap Chinese Zama carb and it's a no go for me. FS94R is too weak. It's a good trimmer, is light, but not enough power for me, and it's got a Chinese Zama carb.
260 and 525 are mechanically identical.same engine etc. why husky bought redmax back in the day. i may have a vid soon about that. echo def over weight and not as ergonomic as 525/260
I think you may have just gotten a bad batch. I've got a whole line of x series equipment. The two trimmers have been used in heavy duty commercial applications going on four seasons now. School systems, housing authorities, and cemeteries. Both still run like there fresh off the shelf. I think there all guilty of making lemons ery now and then. Gotta keep clean air filters on em, grease in the head, use good fuel and mix, and run wide open and a trimmer will last.
Hey, my weed trimmer died, thank god. Now I need a new one. I have no opinion to agree or disagree with. Just want to hear your opinion. And opinions are opinions, not to be argued with. Question. Were you stoned when you did this vid? Thanks for the vid.
Who said they dont make some here? Stihl makes most of their homeowner equipment at virginia beach plant.the higher end is in Germany and they also have a giant plant in china.google china stihl plant.we get a few products in the states from there.again who said anything about that?
🤣 HA ! how long you want your shaft to be.. I felt a little bad and little childish at first for laughing about that .. until I heard you laughing about saying it 😂
Echo reigns supreme nothing comes close to a Japanese made engine, Sthil looks nice and is overpriced so all you’re really paying for is the packaging and annoying salesman,Husqvarna is just a joke.
Well husqvarna commercial are made in japan by redmax.wjy they bought redmax.also just cuz something is from japan doesn't make it better.husqvarna is the world's largest for a reason. But if u think echo is best that's ok! I love echo

Husky 525 series is a beast, plus best stock head and good anti vibe. My understanding in looking at the parts is it’s a Zenoah engine from Redmax.
The reason they bought redmax was the engine. They call them xtorq when in their husky products

What would be the closest model from stihl comparison to the 525lst? Reason I ask is I’ve only run stihl. Used 322l for awhile but that’s it
That’s a hard question. It would be a cross breed between a light weight fs94r and the low end grunt of an fs91r.
I am fixing to buy the 525, but what are the differences between the lst, ls, and the l series?
L is the basic version(less power too).Still commercial grade. The LS is identical to the LST minus the torque bevel. Same HP same skid plate etc.

The 525LS and 525LST is dealer only.
@@exterminator1 yea i found one dealer that sells them in my area.
Would you recommend the Echo 450 speed head for the Husqvarna over the 400 head?
Absolutely It is mt preferred head
That's what she said! LOL Couldn't resist. Peace and trimmer grease.
@@Campfussell omg! why didnt i think of the "trimmer grease" ?? lol
How does the husky compare to redmax?
It same thing
Vibration is worst part of a weed eater, even if you wear a strap and use handle bars. Make sure you get a weed eater that won’t vibrate your back to death, also get a good padded strap and rubber coated handle bars.
Great video love your humor. I found an Echo and Husqvarna both priced $199 and pretty similar... I have a thick overgrown bush.lol which would do best? I would appreciate your opinion
Don't buy husqvarna not good they don't make them like they use to get sthil instead less problems husqvarna if you got tall grass it will turn off
Craftsman and poulan pro and husqvarna not good
i just got a 128ld it sings
IMO a 2 cycle Echo, Stihl, or Husqvarna is the best. 4 mix sucks for a trimmer.
4-mix sucks, why?
@@zacjohnson8404 Because 4-mix engines aren't suited for delicate work. Now they rock for brushcutting.
@@WeSRT4 I agree!! They have their place.
Totally agree! 4 mix just gay! Maintenance is really high. 4 stroke may have very good low end torque but they spins slower than 2 stroke counterparts which it not idea for extensive use but only use it for brush cutter, pole saw and straight stick edger for first clean up that it.
Thank you for the honesty
Great Reviews Sir... Honesty is a Great Virtue. They're all really good trimmers, but I think the Husqvarna is a bit better. Everyone should buy all 3 and put the kids to work... Lol.
How is there not one comment about this guy saying that’s what she said 😂😂
I found a Stihl FS-45 in the trash 12 years ago.
I make myself not buy an efco! I want one but I have sooo many already! Doesnt mean i wont though lol.
I kinda like whoseavarna or who is a varna
Do you have one that runs? And pick up that wire before you cut the grass! Don't want you to get hurt.
I have plenty of junk Stihl equipment .echo and redmax seem to last me the longest .
I do not know much about nothing But I do know this !
There can be good money to be made crawfishing in the Atchafalaya spillway :)
I have a good friend who crawfishes !
These people cut logs that are in the water
So as to have a place to put their crawfish traps !
Actually submerge the bar in the water and cut the logs
Only thing out of the water is the power head !
He has used his favorite brands
Which are Stihl and Husqvarna
He swears a Stilh can not handle the abuse like a Husqvarna !
He says
Husqvarna is by far the best for cutting underwater :):):)
What this means I do not really know ?
But still
If my yard is underwater I'm not cutting the grass, but good luck to you.
All 3 stink. troy-built is the best and has new century drill start .that's why all the professionals use it on other planets after terraforming. best review TU
Your opinion is as high quality as Troy Bilt's 4 cycle pull start hook springs are long lasting.
I will not buy anything from Husqvarna again that’s just my opinion I have had bad luck with them so I will stick with sthil. The only problem with echo is is that there are only one dealer in my area that can service the unit so stihl will have to be my go to.
Great video! Everything you brought up about the Echo and 94r is exactly what I’m experiencing.
try efco DS2400s . speaking as a STIHL and HUSQVARNA technician.
Imo Husqvarna is the best I love my Husqvarna weed Wacker it's great
I love mine bud!
@@exterminator1 I appreciate the advice and the video it was definitely worth the watch!!!
Husqvarna is a three century old company and everyone knows it's # ONE.
I don’t blame ya for 4 mix. They are high maintenance and it would not save you money in long run.
You bring up really good points about the build quality of the Husqvarna. Their commercial stuff is great. I just feel like their low end stuff needs to be better quality a relegated to the Poulan name.
The 128ld is on their low end.I have used it for many years and its still great.I was very critical of it in an old video.has surprised me.BUT I dont have everything they make on the low end.Only speak to what I have owned or used :)
eXterminator The 128 is not up to the SRM 225 or the HT56. Another thing is there low end saws and riding mowers....
@@WeSRT4 I have the 240 saw its great! my 225 is decent.128 is like twice as strong. but what matters is what you like!!
I want to argue to you but I can't
I have used all three, all my guys say the husky wins hands down.
Seems to be the way if their is no super fan boy biased in the group lol
Stihl fs 70r for 10 years it's going strong
i have a 1989 fs 66 stihl going stong.i have it on my channel
@@exterminator1 never tried that one but I hear nothing but good things about them.
Hoosvarna?
Yes. how its pronounced in Sweden. what about it?
Reality is all these companies make good products, they wouldn't be in business if that wasn't the case
So I drive the opposite way from them a county over just to the husqvarna dealer lol.they all 3 good I just prefer husky.so dang light weight , balanced and powerful.thanks for watching!
eXterminator if your scag dealer offered stihl and echo would you go 2620T or 94r?
@@jew0182 2620t for sure
eXterminator that’s kind of what I’m thinking as well. I like everything about the 525LST.
eXterminator which would you say has more power 2620T or 525LST
The new 91-131rs have bigger tanks 😎👍
I have a 20 year old fs120, the plastic on it looks no more worn than that one, don't underestimate that plastic. What I don't like about it how-ever, is the way the filler cap sticks out and the tank flexes around. Putting it in my ute I'm always worried about breaking something eventually because the side of it is jammed up against the wheel arch in the back. I like the husqy design, flush all round.
u can see my 1989ish stihl fs66 still perfect!
4mix is a crime against the engine gods.
I REALLY LIKE THE PART WHERE YOU START THEM AND KNOCK DOWN WEEDS.
I know! Was he best part. I waited a year for you to comment that...finally!
Hey, my weed trimmer died, thank god. Now I need a new one. I have no opinion to agree or disagree with. Just want to hear your opinion. And opinions are opinions, not to be argued with.
Question. Were you stoned when you did this vid? Thanks for the vid.
I just like listening to what the heck yer sayin... its pretty cool
Just like our women, some like big butts, some like a woman who takes care of herself and has a nice figure.
yea
Damn this is a comedy
I liked it 3 times
Stihl are made in USA from domestic and foreign parts
Who said they dont make some here? Stihl makes most of their homeowner equipment at virginia beach plant.the higher end is in Germany and they also have a giant plant in china.google china stihl plant.we get a few products in the states from there.again who said anything about that?

We are in complete agreement. Stihl and Echo both suck.
ok bro this was funny i loved it
Echo reigns supreme nothing comes close to a Japanese made engine, Sthil looks nice and is overpriced so all you’re really paying for is the packaging and annoying salesman,Husqvarna is just a joke.
Well husqvarna commercial are made in japan by redmax.wjy they bought redmax.also just cuz something is from japan doesn't make it better.husqvarna is the world's largest for a reason. But if u think echo is best that's ok! I love echo
