I have my Niro EV 3 in this very colour arriving soon. I've watched pretty much every Niro review video going like an excited child, and this is the best one I've watched so far:
    - straight to the point on each talking point (so many presenters fart around looking at the exterior for too long)
    - enthusiastic and energetic
    - because you were quick on each point, you covered more features than other reviews too
    Well done!

I've also got a Niro Ev 3 on order in Cityscape Green. Hopefully it'll arrive in October. Love the way it drove and prefer this style of dashboard rather than a mounted tablet style like some other cars. It also has a bigger boot than my Golf GTI which will get traded in. Had a look at the EV6 but felt it was bigger than what I really wanted.

    Decent video guys, thanks.
Good to see someone reviewing the entry level model- worth mentioning that in the description imo.
I've got a Runway Red Niro EV #2 arriving in a few weeks. Though I'd have loved a #3, the lease company wanted literally 25% more (salary sacrifice) for them.
The MG wasn't an option for me as I refuse to give the Chinese the car market too..

MG looks exactly what it is... cheap. so many issues people report. but they just suffer through it because they paid less. :/
I would rather pay more and get a non shit car personally. Niro looks great. I test drove a 2 and didn't even realise it was the base spec as it had so much kit. I assumed it was top spec.

We chose a Kia Niro EV 4 over a Tesla as I love the heads up display and having buttons for most things feels safer that having to use a central screen all the time. We rarely do long drives so we can visit all our family as they are all no more than 100 miles away without using public chargers. Everything works marvellously well and effectively. We are really pleased with our purchase.

I ended up ordering a Renault Megane Etech on Motability after taking both the Kia Niro and the Renault out for a test drive, It really was a tough decision as both cars drove brilliantly and both are so comfortable and easy to get into if you've got mobility issues. The Megane etech won me over in the end because of the extra features it has, but I would have quite happily have ordered the Niro if the Megane wasn't available on Motability.

Looking for the next car through motability. My mum is wheelchair bound. Had a look at the Niro , MG4 and Kona. All are high So it is difficult to get her into the car.

@@mistermannan One thing to bear in mind with the Megane is that the boot has a very deep load lip, spacious enough at 440 litres, but worth thinking about if you lift things out if you have back issues.

@@mistermannan I'm on motability as well.
I tested my sons wheelchair in both and the load lip in the Megane is horrific. twice the size of my Tiguan which is already huge. no way I would buy that with the wheelchair.
Sadly not enough normal hatchback style cars, all are SUV's nowadays. BMW i4 is a bit more money that this but is a lot lower (much easier for my son,). massive level boot as well.
I'm torn between that car and this, simply because you get far more as standard in this car.

    • @mistermannan
      @mistermannan 11 месяцев назад +1

@@Dreadpirateflappy Thanks for the response. I came to the same conclusion as you. I have to partly carry mother into the car. Assisting her to transfer from the wheelchair to the car and back. The BMW i4 is the best for putting mum in and putting the wheelchair into the boot. All the others are mini SUVs. But that advance payment of 4,250 (with the 750 contribution from motability) is putting me in a dilemma.
I also considered getting some sort of a step that she can use to transfer into the car. But haven't looked into it properly. My order date is September 28. So just thinking about it till then. Hopefully the next quarter prices come on and they are lower (I hope 😂).

Ordered a 3 today (in green) - 21 August. Choice was between the ID3 and the Nero.
I felt the ID3 was a more engaging and comfortable drive. There was a real surge when you floored the pedal. But the regenerative braking was nowhere near as effective and was either on or off. No adjustment levels. It was so suspect I nearly drove into the back of a bus during the test drive. The car just wasn’t going to stop which the Kia would have done, so I had to stand on the brakes. And with regen off the brake pedal just didn’t inspire confidence.
Other issues with the ID3 were the ridiculous haptic controls (including the touch bar which is not backlit so useless at night), and the voice control which you can’t turn off - it kept picking up on conversation thinking I was giving it instructions. Then when I did give instructions it didn’t understand me (I’ve got a pretty neutral accent). There were just too many issues that I couldn’t live with.
The Nero however was just a very solid performer all round. The ride wasn’t quite as sophisticated and was a little bouncy at times. One large pothole really threw it off line. But on smooth country roads the ride was delightful albeit the seats were a little firm compared to the ID3.
I loved the paddles enabling you to adjust the regenerative braking levels. I found myself changing the level far more than I thought I would. I found the braking in the Nero really inspiring.
I’m happy with our choice and our vehicle is due for delivery at the end of October. We could have had it a month sooner but we will be away. Learning all the different functions is going to be interesting but my neighbour has just taken delivery of a new Sportage so we can share the pain.

I think you have chosen the right car. Having the paddles as the Regen braking is a great idea and it allows easy use to change it up when you need to. I think it’s a great feature. Love that you have gone for city scape green too. Nice choice. Thanks once again for chatting to us and sharing 🤗

Another good informative and enthusiastic review that covered all the main details and was just the right amount of time. The electric Niro looks like a great well built car that does everything most people need. I drive an electric Hyundai Kona, which I love and would seriously consider the Niro when I come to change, however Hyundai have a completely new Kona arriving before the end of the year which will be in direct competition with the Niro, so I will reserve judgement until I have done a test drive on both of them.

Test drove a 2 today. I drive an e Niro 3 and this the new version has a better ride but felt a bit less powerful when accelerating (haven't checked the stats on that). I don't like the lack of a knob for changing the fan speed - you have to choose a speed from the little array that replaces most of the buttons. You have to chose between climate controls and infotainment controls which will take some getting used to and seems pointless. The review should perhaps have covered this aspect. Sales person said he leaves everything on auto based on chosen temperature...

Unfortunately, Kia have taken the heat pump away as an option for the 3, so it's only available (as an extra) on the 4 now. The Kona is even more efficient and all trims come with a heat pump included as standard, although the boot is not quite as good as the Niro EV.
I think the main competitors are the Kona 2023 and the Megane ETech, similar sized batteries, similar price ranges and the same or better range (which is already good on the Niro!).

Tesla allow any cars to charge on certain chargers on it's supercharger network in the UK. we also have V4 superchargers here now as well. some of the first in the world.
top speed the Niro charges at is 80kw, limitation of the car. supercharger goes far higher, 250kw I believe.

      @CarChatTV  11 месяцев назад

Hey Marcus, thanks for the comment! You should be looking at 2 years or 20,000 miles for servicing intervals on the Niro EV. Costs can vary depending on where you go. With regards to what the warranty doesn’t cover:
Any damage caused to your Kia car that is beyond the manufacturer's control will be exempt from the 7-year warranty. These could include:
Misuse of the car, such as driving over kerbs, overloading the car's capacity and using the car for competitive driving.
Events such as theft, collision, or fire damage.
Cars categorised as 'insurance write-off' or 'total loss' Alteration, modification or tampering

The Kia EV2, the refreshed Bolt, Tesla 2, and a slew of other very cool EVs in the $25K range are going to make the entry-level EV market very interesting in 2025 with longer ranges, faster charging, and very cool features. If you’ve got an old car but you’re looking to get an EV, I’d nurse that old hooptie along for another year or so, if possible, and wait to see all the cool stuff coming out then.

On Autotrader , the cheapest E Niro I could find was a 2021 model 4plus ( same as I have ) and it has 71000 on the clock, going for £19000.00
These cars are holding their value.
Mine has done 89000 so far and goes back in February when I replace.
I do not like the look of the new E Niro.
The interiors are a step down from the 2021 model.
Mulch cheaper materials used all round but for a higher price.
      So not ideal.
I have loved driving this car. I do 700 ish miles per week and have no issues .
The battery is still good after 89000 miles.
I’ll be sorry to see this car go .

Compared to a Model Y it's an outdated piece of shit.

Not everyone wants Tesla... I prefer not to take my eyes off the road for simple things like checking speed.
I also like actual decent build quality. Model Y is like an amazing computer in a really cheap brittle plastic housing.
