Any baseball lovers here?! Comment below if you are! ⚾Also... go easy on me, I know my baseball vocab is still lacking 😂 PS - I'm officially a baseball fan now!
Was just at a game at Koshien yesterday. Best atmosphere in all of pro baseball I’ve been been to. Even including MLB. Absolutely the most friendly and passionate fans. 😊
The baseball cultures in Korea and Taiwan are also very enjoyable. I personally think the Taiwan culture is the most entertaining. It's one big party from first pitch to the final out.
As a fellow Aussie living in Japan I also recently went to my first baseball game and I loved it too! Way more interesting than cricket and the beers and food are amazing and reasonable price. Go giants! I feel like you’ve taken the easy road picking hanshin, gotta support local even if they aren’t top form!
Baseball is the best sport to watch at the stadium in Japan. Fans are so passionate, and I can feel why it's the most popular professional sports league in Japan! 👍🏻
This is not a regular season game, but a pre-season game. Regular season Hanshin Tigers games at Koshien Stadium are almost always packed. The Hanshin Tigers have the best attendance in Japan, and sixth in the world if you include MLB. And the cheering of Hanshin Tigers fans at Koshien is the most enthusiastic and entertaining in Japan.
I'll be going to my first baseball game in a few weeks time in Yokohama! And will finally be watching a game at the legendary Koshien in June! Been supporting the Tigers for nearly a decade!
Went to a regular season game @ Koshien last year. Packed sold out stadium, insane atmosphere, especially since we were sitting in the right field bleachers, wedged in between die hard local fans .. A way more fun experience than any game I attended in the US.
I'm Filipino but my stepdad is from Kobe, so automatically this is a Hanshin household lol. I never really got into baseball since Philippines is all about boxing and basketball. I'm a baseball fan from San Diego, California and my team is the Padres. We have a beautiful baseball park and good weather all year so we don't really care much about winning or losing, we just love spending a laid-back afternoon watching a game. In festivals, events, sports, and other rides such as movie theaters, facilities, cruise ships, etc., the prices of food and goods offered at food stalls, restaurants, vending machines, etc., whether special or not, are rather expensive, but customers do not see this as a problem because they know the providers' circumstances, that is, the necessary expenses are usually higher than usual and they are also in business and need to make money. Customers are willing to pay more than the usual cost for the items they provide, and they know that they are in business and need to make a profit, so they are more than willing to spend the money, as if to promote the circulation. They don't speak out against their own culture and what it has to offer, and they don't complain and ruin entertainment and celebrations, and they don't act as if they are hurting businesses or workers or anything else. But it seems too expensive in the U.S., about twice the normal commercial price of anything. This is hard to believe in what is supposed to be the richest country in the world...
I was only able to see 1 game while I was in Tokyo, I saw the Tokyo Giants, what an experience, absolutely loved every second and the Japanese goes nuts pitch by pitch, every inning. Right outside the Tokyo Dome we’re they play, there’s a huge haunted house, there was a 3 hour wait after the game, YES I waited, and absolutely well worth it. WOW what an outstanding tour. Absolutely Loved Every Second /// Outstanding From Start To Finish
I’m Japanese who currently live in US, and I’ve never been to Koshien ballpark. I’m sure Koshien is the best ballpark in Japan, I definitely need to visit there when I go back to Japan next time. Thank you for introducing this amazing place.
I was in Japan last October and in arrived in Hiroshima the day of a playoff game ( I think against the Tigers ) . I was fun to see all the people in their Carp jerseys on their way to the game . The on the Shinkansen home a couple days later the guy sitting next to me was listening to the Tigers game . He was quite into it .
With how you asked if any players started out as anime/manga fans, Shohei Ohtani actually said his biggest hero is the main character of Major (which I’d recommend most, along with Crossgame and Big Windup) so that definitely does happen.
No Ozzy described the professional baseball culture in Japan any better than you! Good job! I'll share your video to my friends. If there is any chance, please keep posting the baseball series.
In the U.S., not only are seats costly, but so is everything else in the stadium. I can attest to this from my own experience attending a Yankees game at the old stadium, so I can only imagine it's even pricier in the new one.
Love to see it! Video makes me want to go back to Japan already! Coming from NZ where Cricket and Softball is played, Baseball is not very big here in comparison. I went to my first baseball game before I left this March, an opening game at Meiji Jingu stadium and it was the Tokyo Swallows vs. Chunichi Dragons loved it, seats were a little small but everything else was amazing!, also there was like 30k in attendance that day I'm a baseball fan now too lol, I miss the late night batting cages and seeing everyone from salarymen and young kids to couples having a date there, just having fun and going ham in the cages...
This was a fun video! Someday, I hope to get to see an NPB game live! To answer your question about American baseball food concession prices, it depends on where you go. If you go to a Minor League ballpark - the levels below Major League Baseball - you will spend less on food concessions. If you go to a Major League Baseball game, expect to spend much, MUCH more. For example, I recently went to Yankee Stadium and a 25 oz. beer, a one liter bottle of water, a foot-long hot dog, and bacon on a stick (yes, they have those) was nearly $40 USD. Regardless on how much you spend, you're going to have fun.
Thanks for the upload. It was so much fun to see you were having fun at the Koshien stadium! I was born and grown up in the area as a die hard Hanshin fan currently living in the US, I was so happy to see you chose Hanshin and Koshien stadium for your first baseball experience! Trust me! After visiting a lot of stadiums in the US, still the Koshien stadium is the best to see games! Please please don’t support Yomiuri Giants as one of your friends said at the end!😂
I love this. I play baseball in Australia. I'm a huge baseball fan and I'm travelling to Japan later this month. I definitely want to go to a baseball game. I'm loving your channel btw, lots of great info for us for our first time going to Japan.
Till kickoff 😂😂😂😂 Come on Sarah 😄 This video is a perfect example of when I said the other day how much of a variety your channel is. Now throw in baseball content 👍🏼
Get yourself a glove so if there is a pop fly into the stadium seats, you can catch it..and hopefully not get hit. I caught a pop fly at a Cubs baseball game in Chicago, which was both amazing and a little painful. We are building a brand new professional baseball stadium in my city, which will be the new home of a team imported from California. I hope to see the Dodgers and Otani play this summer! Welcome to the love of the game!
I went to Japan 2 weeks ago and watched the Giants in Tokyo Dome, it was amazing I also splitted out from my group and went to Koshien from Osaka. I have been reading baseball manga from Adachi sensei since I was young and I wanted to visit the Holy ground of highschool baseball. It was beautiful, but I came when the Spring tournament just ended 2 days ago so the stadium was completely empty. Still was able to take some awesome pictures and saw the Babe Ruth plate at the Mizuno park (I'm a Yankees fan)
Konichiwa…. Yea….my hometown team!!!You are always welcome here…Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi Jeffrey Williams, he is the legend… I love him and respect him…
Long time ago I went to Koshien to watch the high school matches. It’s a different vibe. Similar to March Madness. And Ace of Diamond is probably still the top baseball manga.
omg it's such a coincidence that youre watching hanshin tigers vs yakult swallows at koshien stadium because i'm going to the swallos vs tigers game on sunday. but at meiji jingu stadium instead haha. i enjoyed this video, it gave me a good idea of what the atmosphere is like. the crowds were really excited for a preseason game. judging by the comments the atmosphere is going to be even crazier on sunday since it's a regular season game
Is it an open battle? Once the baseball season begins, you can experience the atmosphere of Japanese baseball even more, and it has a unique atmosphere that is different from Major League Baseball.
Big baseball fan and I would love to see a game in Japan. My team is the Fukuoka Hawks in the NPB, but it would be so cool to see a game at Koshien with its history and distinctive all dirt infield. Ace of the Diamond is an awesome and probably most accurate baseball anime/manga if you get into it. Even though he’s not on the main team Sanada is my favorite player in the show.
i think its 9 at busch stadium for dasani LOL thats why i pay the money for all inclusive tickets where all u can eat and beer is free included for the price
This. Best tip I ever got was to buy the $2 bottle of water from the street vendors on the way in to Nationals Park and don’t open the bottle until you get inside, b/c it’s crazy expensive inside.
I would love to see a baseball game in Japan. Great that this stadium also has a baseball museum to give some background info on the history of baseball in Japan. 👍 Btw, the Sydney Cricket Ground also has a museum, and they offer guided tours behind the scenes. Same in the US? I suppose so. As someone else mentioned, I would be interested in a video series on different sports popular in Japan. You did a nice clip on Sumo wrestling a while ago. 😁
The Hanshin Tigers are so enthusiastically popular in the Osaka area that fans call the Tigers' team song "Rokko Oroshi" the "National Anthem of the Republic of Osa
I live in Nishinomiya and went to a game a couple of days ago. This must have been a pre-season game as the stadium was mostly empty. The Tigers sell out all home games.
Hanshin Tigers!! Hooraaaay, hooray hooray hooray!! My home team in Japan! I'm honestly not that big into following sports, but I do love the atmosphere at a live game. Whenever I went to a game, it was always vs the Hiroshima Carp for some reason. I think Koshien is a particularly beautiful ball park. Japanese fans are so polite and organized, especially with their cheering. They follow the cheer organizers at the front of their sections and sing along to all the songs and do all the hand movements etc. I remember Tigers fans used to release a lot of balloons at the 7th inning stretch. Do they still do that? American baseball is still a lot of fun, but feels a little more chaotic in the stands. And the food is way overpriced. I live in DC now. Our team is the Nationals (Go Nats!!), but I've always been a Baltimore Orioles fan.
I went to a game in the Tokyo Dome last year. Giants vs Tigers. The place was sold out and it was the most fun baseball game I've ever been to. Seats were pretty cramped, though.
I'm also a Yankees fan. I want to go to Yankee Stadium. Aaron Judge is still not feeling well. The 4 strikeouts the other day were surprising. From JAPAN
That yakisoba dish would probably be like $20-25 in the US at the few stadiums that would have it. Lately I keep watching videos of people going to Japanese games and it feels like an absolute experience. Hoping to go to at least a Chunichi game next year. New challenge is going to all of the stadiums in Japan to compare them.
Every player getting their own song is something I wish we did in North America, brings the energy of a European football match. Anyways if you do decide to come stateside, Dodger Stadium (LA), Wrigley Field (Chicago), and Fenway Park (Boston) are historical venues, while Oracle Park (SF) and Petco (San Diego) are newer venues rated highly for their aesthetics.
Your content is getting really really impressive this year. Very original. So many Japan travel tubers are gonna copy you, but we know who set the trend. Keep up the unique content…250k subscribers by Christmas.
I'm sorry, I don't understand the content because I don't understand English, but I've been supporting the Hanshin Tigers for 45 years. I'm so happy that I can be friends even if I don't understand the words.
I can vividly remember the Hanshin Tigers from Anthony Bourdains Osaka Episode. Cool to see how it changed. And not lol. I think they played their Game in the Osaka Dome tho in that Episode, because the Tigers cannot use the Stadium during the Summer Highschool Tournament.

私は阪神タイガースファンです。去年に引き続き2連覇して欲しい!
GO HANSHIN TIGERS!!!!🐯
Been to 8 NPB games over the years, Koshien is a lovely old stadium and is 100% worth seeing.
No Ozzy described the professional baseball culture in Japan any better than you! Good job! I'll share your video to my friends. If there is any chance, please keep posting the baseball series.
Chicago Cubs fan here. Would love to see a game in Japan. Preferably next year when the Cubs and Dodgers open the MLB season in Tokyo.
In the U.S., not only are seats costly, but so is everything else in the stadium. I can attest to this from my own experience attending a Yankees game at the old stadium, so I can only imagine it's even pricier in the new one.
I wish we had the equivalent of 750 yen beer here in the states!
Chunichi Dragons
loved it, seats were a little small but everything else was amazing!, also there was like 30k in attendance that day
I'm a baseball fan now too lol, I miss the late night batting cages and seeing everyone from salarymen and young kids to couples having a date there, just having fun and going ham in the cages...
The bass lines in this video are dope and very relaxing. Sarah picks so much great background music!!!!
You can thank my editor Taylor, he helped out with this one! 🙌
Thanks for sharing this baseball video! ⚾
英語出来ないけど、こうやって外国の人が日本の野球に興味を持ってくれて嬉しい☺️

Koshien is Fenway Park of Japan! Going there is definitely on my bucket list. I want to be part of 7th inning stretch which is shooting balloon.
Very nice.
I am pleased you enjoyed the stadium and the game.
Cheers!
I love this. I play baseball in Australia. I'm a huge baseball fan and I'm travelling to Japan later this month. I definitely want to go to a baseball game. I'm loving your channel btw, lots of great info for us for our first time going to Japan.
セーラさん。日本語ほんまに上手やね。日本の関西生活環境に凄く馴染んでますね。Good life enjoy!!
Till kickoff 😂😂😂😂 Come on Sarah 😄
This video is a perfect example of when I said the other day how much of a variety your channel is. Now throw in baseball content 👍🏼
Awesome opportunity…love the sounds/scents of pro baseball games.
I went to Japan 2 weeks ago and watched the Giants in Tokyo Dome, it was amazing
I also splitted out from my group and went to Koshien from Osaka.
It’s actually officially called first pitch so good job Seera!!!!
Konichiwa….
Yea….my hometown team!!!You are always welcome here…Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi
Jeffrey Williams, he is the legend…
I love him and respect him…
Long time ago I went to Koshien to watch the high school matches. It’s a different vibe. Similar to March Madness. And Ace of Diamond is probably still the top baseball manga.
I am a big fan of Hanshin, too because Kobe is my hometown. I'm so glad to see that you spent good time in Koshien stadium.
I definitely need to check out the baseball museum. The manga panels look amazing!!!
Looks fun!
I'll see if they are playing when I go in October
Thank you!
omg it's such a coincidence that youre watching hanshin tigers vs yakult swallows at koshien stadium because i'm going to the swallos vs tigers game on sunday. but at meiji jingu stadium instead haha. i enjoyed this video, it gave me a good idea of what the atmosphere is like. the crowds were really excited for a preseason game. judging by the comments the atmosphere is going to be even crazier on sunday since it's a regular season game
The lead singer of the Japanese rock band Band-Maid, Saiki Atsumi, is a massive Hanshin Tigers fan. 😊 About 1/3 of her X feed is about the Tigers.
I have a vintage Tigers cap from the 1990's. 😊
Stadium food is extremely expensive in the States. Just for bottled water it would be about 8 USD. A hot dog close to 10 USD
i think its 9 at busch stadium for dasani LOL thats why i pay the money for all inclusive tickets where all u can eat and beer is free included for the price
Yeah, its ridiculous
Kind of like movie snacks in the states. Popcorn's so expensive!
Same in Canada, Stadium and Hockey rink food is sooooo freaking expensive...
Hanshin Tigers 🐯 Is who I follow due to the fact I grew up in Leichhardt following the Balmain Tigers 🐯 Need to get back to get Hanshin Tigers Merch ❤
Love this, Diamondbacks fan, the best for all of you 🐍🏆🌸
Very funny game!😂😂😂😂😂Amazing stadium!
AHHHHHH You went to a Tigers Game!!!! HECK YES!!!!! lol I'll be there May 6th though the 14th (Tokyo that is!)
Had a blast!! You gonna see a game during your next trip?
@@seerasan lol if there’s a game for sure I’ll go!!
Thank you for watching Japanese baseball.
Japanese people like baseball.
If you have a chance, please come to the stadium again.
I went to a game in the Tokyo Dome last year. Giants vs Tigers. The place was sold out and it was the most fun baseball game I've ever been to. Seats were pretty cramped, though.
Omg I love the lager backpacks the vending girls carry. And the karage chicken looks oishi.
The all-dirt infield took me back to my little league days : )
My favorite team is the New York Yankees! (I'm from NYC) I've always wanted to go to a baseball game in Japan. 🎉
Hopefully they do well this year! So far pretty good.
I'm also a Yankees fan. I want to go to Yankee Stadium. Aaron Judge is still not feeling well. The 4 strikeouts the other day were surprising. From JAPAN
JUAN SOTO
Even if I am a Hanshin tigers fan, I haven't been to Koshien stadium for ages so I should go there again to see the games this year. cheers😀
It's such a great stadium!! I hope you get the chance to watch a game this year and support the Hanshin Tigers!! ⚾️ 🐯
i neeeed to go to a hanshin game. thats my favorite npb team. ive never been super jealous of ur videos but now i am 😢😔🤣
koshien stadium is so pretty
Hope you can see a Hanshin game sometime in the future!! 🐯🥺
Cool video. Couldn't get tickets to a Tigers game in May, might try again once I'm there. And the phrase you're looking for is "opening pitch" :)
That's cool game with museum and beer 🍺 lady up and down stairs 😢😢😢so tired her out😂😂😂❤❤
That yakisoba dish would probably be like $20-25 in the US at the few stadiums that would have it.
Great Video, going to a Baseball Game in Japan seems to be so much fun. I Love Baseball and the Anime/Manga Ace of Diamond.
I almost spit my drink out when you said baseball mitten!!!
lol….. me too. She didn’t mention Ohtani’s translator embezzled 14 million US dollars from him.
Mitten is technically correct! Obviously Americans prefer mitt or glove, but she is not wrong.
10:33 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is the loving heck of a traditional Tigers fan❤️
これが阪神タイガース伝統の愛の野次です😂
これが無いとタイガースでは無いと言っても過言では無い!
Great video as always! 😁👍🏼❤️ I’m going to Japan next month and I’m wearing my Kaoru Betto T-shirt! 😂 But how can I get a ticket to a game? 😁
I’m from Kobe and a big fan of the Tigers. I hope you come back during the regular season to see much more exciting games🐯
Your content is getting really really impressive this year. Very original. So many Japan travel tubers are gonna copy you, but we know who set the trend. Keep up the unique content…250k subscribers by Christmas.
Excelent video!
Thank you for watching Jpanese professional baseball game
I'm sorry, I don't understand the content because I don't understand English, but I've been supporting the Hanshin Tigers for 45 years.
I'm so happy that I can be friends even if I don't understand the words.
I can vividly remember the Hanshin Tigers from Anthony Bourdains Osaka Episode.
Cool to see how it changed. And not lol. I think they played their Game in the Osaka Dome tho in that Episode, because the Tigers cannot use the Stadium during the Summer Highschool Tournament.
甲子園出場に こんなミュージアムがあるとは知りませんでした!
