Nothing that we couldn't imagine with the original film. Old Celie talks about her relationship more in depth with Shug. Nonetheless, it wasn't anything shocking about it. Maybe in the 80s it was.
You should read it on ur free time. It gets a little boring near the end. The reader has to now follow Nettie's story. Eventually, her story becomes interesting tho.
