@@agustinpastorino5988 It is YOU who needs to check it. The Russian Dance was a part of the Divertissement...but was removed along with several smaller pieces from the ballet because it ran over three hours. None of Tchaikovsky's pieces ever ran as long.
For me it's the melody starting at 1:35, which is the reason why it's called "Russian Dance," and reminds anyone of his very first string quartet (Op. 11). Interesting to me that my favorite moments in Tchaikovsky always seem to emphasize a violin.
@@GoldinDr for me also that part. Teared up one time when the orchestra started playing it at a theatre since this rarely included in the ballet, that was such an amazing surprise.

I live in Kherson. Ukraine. In the past, I really liked this music. Now the title disgusts me. The Russians are bombing us every day, but I can't leave the city. Today, 2 people died in the city: a mother and a daughter. Cruel Russian dance.
Even if the russian are bombing u guys, Ukraine (which I also hate), it doesnt mean you have to hate this music. Remind you, this was made in mid 1800s, and not all composers share the same views with their native countries. Also, this is just made for a performance.
Tchaikovsky added this special score on the swan lake for a Russian Ballerina. A masterwork as the whole ballet.
Mmmm I think you need to check that. He wrote this for his patron.

@@atanasovz Thank you very much!
the melody at around 1:50 on-wards sounds super familiar, does anyone know what song sounds like it?
No, but it intrigues me as well.
Jared, haha, I just tried to learn this on the piano and it reminded me a lot of Dani California by the Chili Peppers)
there is a Soviet cartoon - Nutcracker (1973). Maybe you watched it.

Русские пляшут свой танец смерти в Украине. Мне нравилась эта музыка.
Сколько пафоса, за которым прячется полное отсутствие смысла как в самом вашем комментарии, так и в голове 😂
