I tend to agree about the mint churning out coins that'll never enter circulation, unfortunately with the mint running at a loss, i can't see it getting any better. They know they have a cash cow with collectors, so will definitely try to milk it dry 😢
It is getting to the stage where coin collecting is becoming less enjoyable. Any new releases into circulation (very few) are quickly snaffled up by post office staff, and then end up on eBay at much higher prices than face value (the Salmon definitive is a case in point). Nice Puddleduck find in this hunt 🦆. My latest hunt was a disaster, but I managed to get 12 old style chunky territory coins and a low minted 1985 Britannia for face value at a car boot sale! 😁
