  • In this video I review the Fjallraven Expedition Down Lite jacket whilst on a walk in the Durham countryside/woods, and ask the all important question as to whether or not it's worth it.

    Great video. Which colour is that? They have 2 blues similar to yours. Btw did you know that fjellreven means mountain fox in swedish? So cool you met a fox during filming.

    Hey, hailing from the US here. Great video man. How come you haven’t posted for a year? This is one of the best fjalraven review channels I’ve ever seen or hear review Chanel of any kind for that matter. It would be cool to see you do some hiking videos on location too.

    Great video , according to the size , what is the size of your jacket and how tall are you. Thanks

    Great jacket but in damp cold uk weather, synthetic is better. I went for the rab generator instead. Fjallraven keb pants is the only gear worth wearing in this video.

    There is a Polar Winter Anarak jacket too by Fjallraven. It is a pull over but it is similar to this one other than that.

    Very helpful video! I have a Fjallraven Nuuk parka but I'm looking for something packable that I can use both for the occasional day hike or for when I visit family in the Philippines (typically in the winter in the US so I don't want to bring a huge coat). Could you tell me the dimensions of this coat when packed down?

    Hmm... I agree with everything that you have said in this video. But that being said I have a really a big fijallraven Nuuk parka and I stayed warm down to -40C (because of bloody Canadian winters) ...I'm 6'2 very slim build. I typically wear a size Large in Jackets/Hoodies and I was surprised that I had to go down to a size small and still have room to layer! But oh boy is it a bloody warm jacket, especially if you put the hood up with fully zipped up. You can handle the snowstorms now problem! Anyone thinking of getting a fijallraven jacket. Any of them seem like an amazing deal. My words of advice:Try it on in store first if you can!

      I’m in Canada and looking into Fjallraven. Do you think the expedition would be a good fit for our winters ?

      @@catrv2846 Depends where you live in Canada and which expedition jacket your looking at. If its the expedition "hoodies" it will keep you warm down to I'd say -12°C and that's with experience with dry windy climates in Alberta. However if youre closer to the coast where it's going be relatively more wet than I'd refrain away from down a little more and choose synthetic even though it's heavier it will keep you warmer even if it gets wet.

      Thanks ! I’m in Montreal, Quebec. I’ve heard the weather gets really cold here during winter. It will be my 1st Canadian winter so I’m trying to be prepared haha !

      @@catrv2846 ah I see! Best of luck! Honestly the warmer the jacket the better! If it gets too warm you can always zip down or regulate your temperature rather than sitting out cold lol

    Down to zero degrees Celsius? No wonder you didn't feel cold.

    How is this jacket in rainy situations? I saw on the site that this jacket is just for cold and dry weather?

    • @chrisgardner9018
      @chrisgardner9018  2 года назад +1

      Good question! It has a DWR finish on it, so water does bead off the jacket initially. However in continuous rain, you will inevitably, as with all jackets, get wet and it will lose its insulation. That being said, nothing will keep you warmer than this, so my advice? If you are going on an amble, and the weather forecast has rain, just take an umbrella! 😂

    Dude this is definitely not a jacket for British weather 🤯 it’s jacket for harsh Scandinavian winter….for English conditions best choice is synthetic jacket coz high humidity and basically wet when down not working good….unless you are sitting on the camping somewhere and it’s cold then maybe I would take it with me but still it is big jacket even when it’s down….but yea still will see the video to check your opinion about this great winter jacket 😉

      Agree with comment above this is not a jacket for 0 to 5C you would constantly over heat I couldn’t imagine wearing it in anything less than -20C. I don’t usually comment but you would be wicked hot in that jacket at that temp range
